Blowing preamp tubes in my Rectoverb

Yeah, I think I'm just going to take it in. I'm just wondering if it's happening when I switch modes. Thanks.

Blowing preamp tubes in my Rectoverb

I've had my Rectoverb (series 2) for about 7 months w/ no problems. About a week after I bought it (new), I replaced the position 1 & 2 preamp tubes w/ new Tung Sol's. Everything was fine until my 1st show with it last week. Half-way through the 1st set, when I changed channel 2 to the "Raw"...

Boss GT-6 through Rectoverb FX loop

I only use the GT-6 for effects, so I prefer running it through the effects loop, which I have always done w/ my other amp (5150). I set the effects levels on the GT-6 to 100% & the mix on the Rectoverb's loop to about 50%. The delays sound great, but I can barely hear any of the modulation...

WTB: Mesa 3/4 Closed Tuned 1x12 Cab

I'm looking to pick one of these up as an extension for my Rectoverb. Thanks!

    Guitar and patch cables

I've used Mogami for years. To my ears, they are the most transparent cable you can buy.

PICS of Custom FootSwitches for Mesa Boogie Amps

Can you make an external switch that I can use as a bypass for the fx loop on my Rectoverb combo?

    Your favourite tubes

For output tubes, I like SED (Svetlana) tubes, smooth & full. For preamp tubes, I've been using Electro-Harmonics (12AX7EH) for years. Low microphonics & not harsh.

Just bought my 1st Mesa today.

I actually tried it through a 2x12 Road King cab (1/2 open, 1/2 closed) and it sounded unreal. I'm going to see how it does at a small club w/out the ext cab right now, but I'll probably end up buying the Road King cab. $625 for a 2x12 cab is steep, though.

Just bought my 1st Mesa today.

Thanks for the help guys. I hope I didn't screw up the reverb tank by taking it out. I put it back exactly as it was, but was unsure on how the 2 plugs went back in. The reverb seems to be working, so I guess it's ok. The amp's a series 2 & now I can double check that the bias switch is set...

    Roadster - opinions?

I spent some time on a 2x12 Roadster today & have to say that I was not real impressed. I ended up buying a Rectoverb 1x12 that sounded twice as big & was easier to tweak.

Just bought my 1st Mesa today.

What's up guys. Went amp shopping today & picked up a Rectoverb 50 combo. This is by far the best sounding 1x12 combo I have ever played through. The clean channel is unbelievable & the lead channel is smooth & thick. I also tried the Road King, Stilleto Ace, Lonestar & Roadster 2x12, but...

Questions on the Roadster & Rectifiers

Thanks for the replies. I have to find one of these to try out. None of the Guitar Centers in my area have these in stock, though. I've never seen a tube amp w/ so many options/features: the solo boost function, the option of turning the fx loop on/off by channel, separate reverb by...

Questions on the Roadster & Rectifiers

What's up guys, this is my 1st post. I'm looking to try a Roadster 2x12 combo, but I'm wondering if someone can give me some quick info on what the difference is w/ rectifier amps. I've been playing a Peavey 5150 for the last 15 years, but I'm looking for more versatility, a good clean channel...
