Sell/Trade Mesa Boogie 4x12 Standard Slant

I'd like to get about $550 for it. Eric, As far as the 2x12 goes, I'm interested if you really think you might want my cab and you're willing to drive the Atlanta area but the more I think about the situation the more I'm leaning towards trying out other amps and pedals with the money I'd get.

Sell/Trade Mesa Boogie 4x12 Standard Slant

Late 90's or early 2000's. Not sure, bought it from a friend of a friend who bought it to complete a Triple Rec full stack. It's lived inside. Played one outside gig with it. That's it. Fine condition. Vintage 30's inside. Boogie Casters I'm in the upstate of South Carolina and looking to...

    Dr Z help/info

The word that sums up Z's amps is "PURE." Try an 18-watter like a Maz 18 or a Ghia if you think a 30+ watter might be too much. I loved my Ghia a lot but wouldn't want more power. I second what the other guy above said about them. A Dr. Z would definitely be my first choice for Tele playing.

Only ever played a boogie, my first non mesa amp?

Shiva's rule. I used to have one and it was the perfect humbucker amp. Great Marshall vibe on channel two but channel one was the most pleasant surprise of all. The magic that exist between a nice strat and a nice Fender amp exists between a Les Paul and the Shiva's first channel. :D Just a...

Mark III/Petrucci questions from a noob

My Red Stripe is doing I&W and Awake quite nicely here. :D I dare say the sound I'm getting is a hair more Recto-like than the I&W tone, so its almost like having a combination of both album tones in one amp. High gain isn't a problem, nor is volume so don't worry about that, you'll be just...

    Post removed.

There is a mod that is widely available and very popular among Mark III owners which creates a volume control for the second channel--I believe by utilizing the hole drilled for the reverb knob on the back. Do a search for 'Rhythm 2 mod.' As far as the effect your talking about with the lead...

    Humbuckers/SingleCoils = specific amps?

I think thats the best route to ultimately being happy and inspired by your equipment. I keep recalling a Dr Z amp I had not long ago and how absolutely perfect it made my Strat/Tele sound. I'm consistently blown away by Paisley's playing and tone. It was a terrific sounding amp with any guitar...

    Humbuckers/SingleCoils = specific amps?

I've come across the concept your stumbling upon numerous times. With certain amps I agree and with certain other more "magical" designs I don't. There are certain amps that definitely convey the mojo of a strat or tele better than others. But there are also a number of designs which can allow...

    i fancy a IV

I purchased a Mark III 1x12 Combo just about a month back. Maybe not even that long. Anyhow, I'm loving it. I just built a headshell to get the wood/wicker look (without the immense hit on my wallet) and to ease the weight of transporting the amp. The most surprising thing is that I'm prefering...

Building a Head Cabinet.......Grounding, Shielding questions

Thanks a lot everyone. Today I was able to get the structural components of the headshell pretty much done although there are still a couple things I'm contemplating cutting a bit shorter. Anyhow, I went with the foil shielding for now since it was available and easy. The amp shouldn't be...

Building a Head Cabinet.......Grounding, Shielding questions

Hi everyone, My first post on a forum that looks infinitely packed with lots of great guys and lots of answers. So, here's a question: I recently purchased an '87 Mark III Red Stripe (60-watt w/ EQ) which was in the 1x12 combo form. I didn't want a combo but it turned out to be a great deal...
