    Advantages/Disadvantages of 7 string guitars?

Check out the Music Man JP7.

    Guitar Lessons

No. I don't think I said any such thing. I merely said that if you know BASIC music theory, the minor and major pentatonic scales, the major scale and all its modes, then you know everything you need to know to create music, solo, and write songs. John Lennon, before he met Paul McCartney, was...

    Hypothetical Question

    a. I didn't know the answer everyone would give. I said I knew what almost any company would do. My question to the forum was IS THIS RIGHT. b. Next time I get ready to start a thread I'll runit by you first and see if you're OK with it. To see if there is any real point. I don't want to be...

    Hypothetical Question

Hey, I KNOW what these companies WILL do. They'll do what the owner of this company did and claim that because it was a second-hand user and a 3+ year-old guitar it was not his problem anymore. What I am getting at is I think that this is completely wrong and unfair. If the truss rod was...

    Guitar Lessons

lennon and mccartney couldn't read music. neither could almost any bluesman you'd care to mention. it didn't stop them from creating beautiful music. i know a lot of music students who can regurgitate facts about theory that they learned in school but who can't play worth a ****. I am not...

    Guitar Lessons

I have yet to find what I consider to be a worthwhile site for anyone other than the beginner. That being said, I am surprised that you could play 15 years in a rock band and not have picked up what little in the way of music theory you need to know to handle blues, rock, and metal. You...

    JP7 on order

+1 on the Pete DuBaldo option. I bought my JP6 thru him and found him a pleasure to deal with. I got a great price too. A full $140 below the lowest negotiated price (not retail price) in my area. And I had 5 Guitar Centers and 3 independents to choose from.

    Hypothetical Question

but this isn't a case of the specs changing. the manufacturer didn't begin installing this other pickup for all guitars. in the example i'm providing, the manufacturer goofed on ONE guitar and installed the incorrect pickup. no formal specification change took place. none was announced. they...

    Hypothetical Question

yes, but my question wasn't "would they" my question was "should they". in addition, in my example, I included the proviso that the error could clearly be determined by the manufacturer. so they would have no way to argue the point. the issue i am trying to get to is if an error was made at...

    Hypothetical Question

Why not? After all, the guy paid for a guitar with the advertised pickups and didn't get it. He got something else. What difference does it make when the error was discovered?

    Hypothetical Question

If I bought a new guitar in 1999 from an official dealer and just the other day discovered that the wrong brand of pickup was installed at the factory for the 1999 model year when in fact that guitar was made ... Would the manufacturer be obligated to fix the problem for free and pay for...

Hpw Would My Gibson LPC Sound Compared With

ah! thanks! i was checking out the '59 reissue and wondered what the difference was between that and the VOS. everything seems to be the same, cts pots, bumblebees, etc so is it that the VOS is just aged or perhaps the wood quality?

    Fret Job Question.

My luthier's teenaged daughter gave me my first fret job back when I was in high school. I'll never forget it.

    Decent, affordable Les Paul copies?!

Won't have a Les Paul tone but this ESP Eclipse CTM-1 sure looks sweet and is a fantastic metal guitar:

Schecter guitars................just how good are they?

I'm not sure that a Paul Studio compares all that favorably to a Standard or a Custom. Once again, you have that all mahogany tone which is not all that great to my ears anyway.
