    Let's see your pedal boards!

The upper left pedal is a 4ms Tremulus Lune. The Comp pedal is the BYOC 5knob Comp. Next to that (red pedal) is a Catalinbread DLS clone I built. Next to that (silver w/ Pi symbol) BYOC v1 Large Beaver (muff clone) w/ some mods I did. The red pedal next to that is a. The empty spot in the...

    Mesa Tremoverb set-up...please help!

I used to clone the Orange. For a while actually. Now I just run the Orange clean and the Red overdriven (not chug, though). I use an OCD for a slightly OD sound. I use a BYOC Muff clone on the clean channel (doesn't like the Red channel) for my fuzz tones.

Soon-to-be Recto user has a couple questions before buying

FWIW: here's my two cents on the cab issue... I got my Tremoverb back around '94 or '95. 2x12 combo. Sounded great and served my needs just fine. I always wanted a half-stack so years later, I decided to convert the amp and ordered a head shell and 4x12 cab. I went back and forth w/ the...

Pedal to create a "3rd" channel

Fultone OCD (I have verson 3) is exactly what I use w/ my Tremoverb. I've recently made a Catalinbread DLS clone which is a really cool Marshall-in-a-box pedal. They're both really good, but IMO, the OCD sounds crappy at the higher gain settings. Neither one sounds like the other, and they're...

Making your TOV-combo into a head?

I did converted my combo into a head/half-stack. I contacted the Mesa rep from my area and did a special order for the head shell and a 4x12 Oversized Recto cab w/ Tan Grille. You'll see by the pic that it's "upside" down and there was no way around it. I'm pretty used to it and it makes for...

Made my own 4-button footswitch for my Tremoverb

Thanks, I thought I could post the pic from the web address. People can just check out the link - I'm not gonna bother w/ putting up on photobucket. That grey pedal is a Big Muff clone from Build Your Own Clone. they call it the Large Beaver (uh huh, huh, huh). The toggle above the...

What 4x12 cab are you using for Dual Rectifier head

I run my Tremoverb through the Recto "oversized' cab. I tried a Marshall and the Mesa "traditional" sized cabs, but I found the Standard one had the best balance. The others were pretty Mids focused. FWIW I play mostly indie rock so my tones are clean to a good overdrive sound (no thrash/deat...

I detailed my build Here Why can't I post a pic of it? Hmm :x

Converting a combo into a head?

I did this w/ my TOV. I met the NE sales rep at a local store and he explained the process to me and provided tons of email support through the process as well. You can order the empty headshell from an authorized dealer. It wasn't cheap though. I think mine was around $250. The good news...

2 new questions - Trem-o-verb head power tubes and serial #

Taking the middle or outer tubes out is a waste of time. As mentioned above, it barely makes a difference. I tried it and wasn't impressed then even had my amp guy do a mod so I can just flick a switch. He didn't charge me much, but it wasn't worth it. All I notice is that there's less...

    Mesa tremoverb CAB?

I have a TOV head that used to be a combo. So I played some different cabs thinking that for sure I would love the "Traditional" size. But after A/Bing them (thank god!) I went w/ the Oversized cab. The Trad cab was very mid rangy and annoying. The Oversized cab sounded all around more even...

Maverick guys: Which cab/speakers do you like

The 4x10 should go nicely w/ that amp. You should be able to get some good "Fender Tweed" tones out of that! and for that price, you can just re-vinyl it yourself (or get it done somewhere).

    Tremoverb cleans?

It's "intersting" to say the least. It's been two years and I still catch myself tweaking the wrong channel! I figure someday it'll be second nature, but for now it's not all that bad. Makes for good conversation. Not w/ the ladies, of course, which is too bad

    Tremoverb cleans?

My fellow TOVers... Yup, the cleans on that beast are great. Maybe not Fender sparkle, but I love 'em. I do notice that if I want really bright cleans I have to use the Silicone Diodes, but the tube Rectifier has a nice warm clean w/ a little breakup when I crank the amp. I was just...

    Tremoverb vs. DC-10

+1 on the above. I have the TOV and love it. I've had it over 10 years. got it as combo and splurged on a head shell and 4x12 oversized cab so now I have a half-stack. I don't know much about the DC-10, but until the Road King came out, the TOV was the "Cadillac of amps" IMO. The tremolo is...

    Alesis quadraverb?

I just picked one up on ebay, but only had it running through my Tremoverb for about a 1/2 hour. I think it worked ok. I got mine for about $80 - but this past wknd saw one at a local shop for $55 - DOH!! If anyone else has experiences/tips I'm interested. Hopefully this wknd I'll get more...

    New Mesa Trem-O-Verb owner here

What are the "Factory Mods" you're referring too? I have a TOV that I got back in (I think) '94. I really like the tremolo, but I'll agree that it's more on the "subtle" side. I recently found a guy in town that is certified by MESA and he makes his own amps so if there's a mod to be done he...

    Should I Sell my 4x12 and get a 2x12?

Honda CR-V. Like a station wagon on 'roids. 4-cylinder so it's decent gas mileage. Has a SUV look to it, but it's not crazy big. Keep the 4x12 until you're too old to lug it around. ha ha. Just save up and get the 2x12 too!

Help please: Tremoverb has hum when turning on reverb...

Thanks for the ideas Jeff. I went ahead and called a local guy who's certified by MESA (and makes his own amps as well). I'll drop it off next week. I figure he can give the whole amp the once over. I'd try your ideas in the meantime, but I don't have any extra tubes lying around :( Have a...
