    Possible Rare 50 Caliber head??

The serial number is coming back that its a 1987. I also have a 1988 50 Caliber with the EQ and it also has the Lead Master Volume knob and no push pull and metal toggles and EL84's. I can't find anything on these models online. They both came with the original owners manuals and there is no...

    Possible Rare 50 Caliber head??

Hello, I just bought a mint 50 Caliber head that I think might be one of the rarer versions. Its says 50 Caliber on the front, its running EL84's, it doesn't have an EQ and it does have a Lead Master Knob on it. It has 8 knobs on the front and 1 in the back for the direct recording level. It has...

    F-30 problem

Hello, I have an F-30 that has a problem. According to the tech that looked at it he gave me a note that reads the following: It says there's a short in the 6.3 dc filament circuit, and that with the dc disabled and filament voltage jumped to v1/v2 the amp will play but it's noisy. Also the ac...

Problem with Single Rectifier volume drop

I have a Single Rectifier Series 2 5 mode head. It has been dead reliable for me for the last 3 years with no issues at all. Just recently I noticed that I will get a slight momentary volume drop when I am playing it. The drop is probably about 6 db and it lasts for about a half a second. If I...

    Mark III switching question

I now know that plugging the footswitch into the front of the amp switches from clean to Lead but I still have a question. When I am in the lead channel (the red led on the footswitch is not lit up) and I pull the pull lead pot I get a ton more gain and the footswitch no longer will switch from...

    Mark III Green stripe question

My green stripe shorthead has the simulclass sticker on the back. It has the EL34's and the 6l6's. There is no simulclass toggle switch on the back. It does have the 1/2 power switch on the front. Is this the simulclass switch?

    Mark III switching question

In the owners manual the footswitch diagram states that if I plug a footswitch into the front of the amp I can switch from Lead to selected rhythm (clean or crunch) I can't figure out how to do it. When I plug in as they suggest I can only switch from clean to crunch. In order to get to lead I...

    Mark III switching question

So that leads me to my next question. I prefer the tone and gain of the lead channel but I need a footswitchable clean channel too. Is this possible?? Also.. is there a way to footswitch between R1 and lead??

    Mark III switching question

I have a 1991 Green stripe Simulclass with EQ and reverb. My question is this... there is a footswitch jack on the front of the amp that seems to only work when the push pull pot for the pull lead/lead drive is pushed in. On this setting I get a great clean and a high gain tone when set at...

Soon to be back in the fold

Hello everybody, its been a while, I have had my share of Mark Series amps, actually a ton of Boogies's through the years. Studio 22's, nomads, Rectifiers, Stilettos etc.. My last Mark III was a purple stripe shorthead with no reverb or EQ. It was a fantastic amp. I ended up selling it and...

    Mesa Stiletto users settings!!!!!

My master volume around 4 and my channel volume around 3. Those settings really sound good believe it or not. I am using the stock Stiletto Deuce tubes and I tried it through several cabinets with everything from Vin 30's to 90w Black Shadows.

    Mesa Stiletto users settings!!!!!

I know alot of pro players on the Jackson/Charvel forum who use these settings. I was told that Mesa uses them. You should call them. One of the JCF members knows Randall. I was also told the settings work for Marshall too. Supposedly.. Fender has "secret" settings too. Something to do with...

    Mesa Stiletto users settings!!!!!

10 means all the way up. My Stiletto is a Hollywood Modded Stage I Deuce. I understand that these settings work on all Stilettos and Rectifiers.

    Mesa Stiletto users settings!!!!!

Are you using a Stage II Stiletto or a Hollywood Modded Stage I? These settings came straight from Randall himself and are Mesa's very own "secret settings" I am told. Including myself, I know several other pro players who use these settings.

Mesa Stiletto Deuce Hollywood mod review

My amp also needed a component in the loop circuit repaired. The mod cost me $200.00 + shipping and it was worth every penny of it. The $60.00 priced mod that Mesa was charging didn't last very long from what I understand. I probably could have gotten it done cheaper if I shopped around but...

Mesa Stiletto Deuce Hollywood mod review

Thanks bro. Dave Sarge who owns Engineered Sound was a long time Mesa Employee. I think he actually developed the mod. He told me he was building amps at Mesa when Randall was working out of a garage. He is also a professor and is well regarded in the amp building community. Engineered Sound is...

Mesa Stiletto Deuce Hollywood mod review

I just got my Stiletto back from being repaired and modified. David Sarge from Engineered Sound did such a good job clamping and gluing the cabinet I can barely tell it was cracked. I guess it was a good thing that it cracked at the bottom seam. Well... on to the review. I had the Hollywood Mod...
