After selling my rectoverb for an engl powerball. I once again own a mesa! Love the engl, but missed that recto sound so much I had to pick up a 3 channel Recto. And I have to say it sounds as good as it looks on my recto cab with diamond plate Side armor!!

By the way. How do you think that nomad compares to the rectoverb. I was very close to getting one a couple days before I got the recto. But I think it was the 100. Tim

Congrats! I too recently picked up a rectoverb. I love it. I play with another guy that has a triple rec. And this sounds every bit as good. I sometimes run it through my 4x12 recto cab to get that huge sound. Good luck with it. Tim.

Heres a question...if I have the choice of the 8ohm out of my head to the 8ohm in on the cab, or the 4ohm out of my head to the 4ohm in on the cab. Which is better, or is it all the same?

The construction has TONS to do with it. I built a 2x12 cab to the exact specs as a Mesa, I'm a carpenter and it was perfect. But I stupidly thought I would use mdf instead of ply wood. That was a huge mistake. It wasn't horrible, but it lacked the punch that it should have had. Same speakers...

I run my rectoverb through the 4x12 recto cab. I think it sounds awesome. And I can pull off all of the sounds you are asking about. I have no trouble with it being booming. But I have heard of guys putting a couple of layers of 2" high density foam in the bottom to make the internal volume...

I always allow a little padding in my price, then when someone offers you $100 less you can say "sold!". And you both feel good about it. I always offer less and usually sellers come down a little. Ps I just sold my 5150 head for $600. I was at $700 but this really nice 17 year old kid came...

But it is a very simple mod to do if you have a little soldering experience. I did it on my 5150 head and it turned out perfect. It's just a matter of tracking down the correct resistor and cutting it out and replacing it with a pot and resistor in line. It really changed the tone for the better...

What are you guys setting your bias to? Right now I have mine at -49v on a rectoverb. Is that still too cold? I don't want to burn anything up.

Congrats! There's nothing like a recto 4x12. Huge sounding. It will take a few hours of higher volumes to really get the speakers broken in for it to really take shape. Good luck! Tim

ok cool. but when i plug in my voltmeter the reading i get is -51v. and the range is about -40 to -65v. what does this mean?
