    Mesa Mark V-------------Metal

Ditto! I also get some good results with the amp in Channel 3 Extreme mode pushed with a TC Nova Drive. If you are lucky enough to afford both then go for it as the MkV will no quite get to Recto territory. Also conversely the Mk V will take you to other places that the Recto won't! Also...

Mark V Ch3 Metal tone video

Either way buddy it sounds pretty **** good esp if it's your own composition. As you can see from my name I'm a Buckethead fan & as such not really much of a fan of more extreme Metal stuff. In fact your playing actually pit me in mind of him! Your composition was well structured &...

Mark V Ch3 Metal tone video

Cool! Nice composition! Sounds great...also sounds like you got quite a bit of effects processing goin on there. Sounds like a 2nd Guitar part in there at times or a doubler effect or something :?: Also assume in Pentode?

    custom faceplates

I took the amp out of the chassis & had it re-covered to match my Carvin Head & 2 x 12 cab. Picke up the Boogie Logo on ebay...hate the new one! http://www.zillacabs.com/index.php

Mark V slave out into Carvin Legacy

Yeah that would work. I tried that too but found I preferred it un coloured by the pre amp & just use a vol box in the loop to adjust the level. Works great!

    Mark V with G System

What you say is of course true as whenever you add anything to your rig apart form a guitar-cable-amp you can expect some signal degradation & perhaps it's also true that maybe Laird does sometimes over think things. However in his defence I say thank god he does!! :D as without him many of...

Mark V slave out into Carvin Legacy

Yeah most likely just a ground loop. One way to sort it is use a balanced cable & connect the head thru an Ebtech Hum eliminator. I always use one for one head when running in stereo through my G system.

Mark V slave out into Carvin Legacy

Cool! 8) I also use my Mark V with a Legacy 1 & my G System. I generally just use the power amp section of the Legacy for the Right channel to give me stereo. I find it matches the Mk V really well when used like this as a second channel for stereo.

Huge jump in volume with effects loop off

You need to clarify what you mean by turn the loop off? :?: If you mean turn it off by engaging the Hard bypass switch on the back of the amp then yes you will get a very big volume jump  as you are bypassing the Output & Solo knobs & your power amp is running at full tilt & the...

    any "dressed up" mark v's?

    Full On Snakeskin!!

    Mark V with G System

Agree totally. I also have no issues with hum or buzz even with the amp on V high gain settings. I aslo do not use a noise Gate. However I do use balanced cables for all my connections via a TRS cable snake & I find I have no need for hum eliminators except for when I use a second amp...
