Running pedals through Mark III effect loop

I’ve been delay shopping for a while now, and I’m leaning towards picking up a TC Electronic Nova Delay pedal and running it through the effects loop of my Mark III Blue Stripe (FX Send >> Choralflange >> Nova Delay >> FX Return). Has anyone had issues running pedals through the Mark III’s...

    el-34 problem with my mkIII

no luck reaching M/B - lots of voice messaging, NO REPLY  any risk of damage if I just stick with 6L6's??? Amp sounds great; I was just experimenting when I discovered this issue. thanks

    el-34 problem with my mkIII

I don't have them in front of me (I'm at work), but I'm pretty certain that they are yellow. I thought the code was just a cross to groove tube. Are there certain Mesa tubes that are NG to use with MkIII? If yellow is no good, what color would be okay? thanks - learning a little everyday

    el-34 problem with my mkIII

I've had the amp a little over a year (1989 imbuya blue stripe simulclass), and have always had the two sets of 6L6's duets that were in it when I bought it. I like the 6L6 sound, but thought I'd try EL-34s (MESA STR447s) in the outer sockets. I run the amp solely in class A mode. The first...

Reverb bleed in my Mk III blue stripe

well i'll be . . . Just looked at the manual and you're right. I always figured it was an on/off switch. thanks

Reverb bleed in my Mk III blue stripe

Even with the footswitch off, my Mk III blue stripe is “bleeding” reverb. If I turn the reverb down to zero, it goes away. Would this be a tube issue? If not, where would I start?

The same or different? BLACK SHADOW - EVM 12L

To quote the catalog "They are highly recommended as an option to high power 1 x 12 Boogies . . ." Not sure that answers your question. BTW, that's what's in my '89 Imbuya MkIII Blue Stripe. The catalog was in a post a couple of pages back (early March 07)...

opinions on the jauernig Diabolical Gristle Tone pedal

thanks, sounds like side by side demo time. I'll probably have to look at a Barber LTD and Direct Drive too.

opinions on the jauernig Diabolical Gristle Tone pedal

I'm playing an Tom Anderson Hollow Classic (ash on ash, rosewood fb, single coils) through my Mk III blue stripe. At this point in my life, this is an at home recreation, low volume levels. The amp is in Class A mode, master volume between 2 & 3. I'm looking for a pedal that will give me that...

    Mk III headroom

are both of you guys running EL-34's in the outer sockets? I'm about to retube, and have had four 6L6's. It sounds good, but I'm thinking of trying the EL-34s on the outside, 6L6 inside. If you've tried both, how would you describe the differences? what tubes are you using? I plan on using...

    Building footswitch for Mark III

Yes - I'd need to put the guitar into the pedal as well, with outs to the tuner and the chain to the amp. Space would be a definite consideration here. Those Peterson tuners look great, but I don't need all the tuning configurations it offers. My only requirement is a tuner with BFTS offsets...

    Building footswitch for Mark III

You could add more than just two LED's, but you would need to supply your own power source (9V battery or adapter) to illuminate them. I'm working on making a 4 switch box, lead/rhythm, rhythm 1/rhythm 2, EQ and Reverb. I'm going to take it a step further with an LED for the lead channel on...

1985 Mesa Catalog for those who want to see it.

1985 catalog and some were not born yet, or they're 12 or 13; geesh - nothing like making a guy feel old.

    i suck at soldering...

I'm assuming your iron is hot enough to melt the solder, is it just that you can't get the wire to solder to the bridge? As Greg suggested, are you sure you should be soldering to the bridge? I would think you need to generate A LOT of heat to get the bridge hot enough to flow solder. The...

    OCD with a Mk III?

After hearing the OCD, and checking out the Fulltone site, I'm thinking of picking one up. Does/has anyone played one of these in front of their MkIII? What did/do you think? I know some of you guys are really pleased with what this pedal offers. Thanks geoangus

    Building footswitch for Mark III

The switch is a simple single pole switch, with two contacts. The switch is either "open" (off) for the lead position, or "closed" (on) for the rhythm position. Solder to the "TIP" contact of the input jack: 1) a wire to go to one side of the switch 2) a 3.3K resistor that is then soldered...

Is there a recommended minimum AWG wire size for the conductors if I went the single bundled wire route?

Have not used effects for 10 years..what should I get?

and as a result of praise and recommendations from this and other sites, I just picked up the Fulltone Choralflange. I have it in the effects loop of my MkIII. Its the best chorus pedal I've heard or played. They're not cheap, but worth it. And holds value very well on e-bay. Fulltone makes...

    Mark III Blue Stripe

You might be right about the one in the auction, especially since it is rotated in its installation, but I believe the speaker on my late 80's blue stripe is the original, and it is an EV Black Shadow EVM 12 "made for Mesa Boogie by EV". I also have a 1984 M/B catalog, and it says the EVM Black...
