Mystery problem with LSC and zoom effect unit

I have a mysterious problem with my LSC: I'm trying to use a new Zoom multi effect (G2) and i'm getting a harsh, raspy, unpleasant, unwanted distortion on the higher notes. It is exactly the same type problem I get if I boost the highs with a EQ pedal. It's like the amp can't handle the...

What is the resell value on this head conversion?

Great job on the head cab build! Did you save the plans? Would you sell a copy? I've seen single heads for sale on Ebay. To find a price for the head, check for "completed listing" or keep checking for new ones. The $1000. - $1100. seems reasonable. Let me know if you wanna sell your...

    Lonestar Classic Lead Channel Help

I just put up a post about re-tubing my LSC with JJ's. I had the exact problem you describe. The new output tubes made a HUGE difference. Night and day difference. I did have to go through 2 sets of JJ's because the first set of tubes actually ratttled like bb's in jar. the second set are good.

I bought a Lonestar Classic (2-12) over a year ago. I never was completely satisfied with the sound. It never had the high end "sparkle" or "smooth" low-end that a good Fender Twin has. Recently, one of my Boogie 6L6 power tubes blew-up (didn't last over 14 months). When I replaced all 4...

    LSC - Better reverb possible?

I'm just stating that when played next to my friend/co-guitarist's Fender Hotrod Deluxe, the LSC reverb doesn't have that sort-of-hot/cooking-sparkle that comes out of the Fender reverb. The Boogie sound is more smooth and soft. It's just not as lively as the Fender. It sounds good by itself...

    LSC - Better reverb possible?

I'd like to get a better reverb sound from my LSC. I play with a guy who uses a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe that had an updated reverb tank (with what, I don't know) and his reverb sound is way better than mine. Traditionally, Boogie reverbs have never been that great compared to the better Fenders...
