In my ears, the voodoo standard mod did a lot for my tone (2ch rectifier), now it sounds clearer, the fuzz/buzz was taken out, tighter, cuts through better, just soo much better overall. Everything that they claim they can do its true, BUT it did not change the voicing of the gain. it still...

I think it was called solo head for a reason, but I can't explain why :oops: anyway, I like my rhythm tone to be my lead as well and the only mode I've had problems with is the modern mode, but i really like the vintage/tube rec/bold for leads/solo tones. Its not your usual lead sound either...

If you really like the tone of your recto but you'd like it to be tighter. maybe look into voodoo modding it. they'll make it as tight AS possible. if not i'd say VHT UL...

I use the vintage mode and the rectifiers, i can get really creamy lead tones, the amp just sings and becomes very expressive, and for a more modern lead tone I just use the spongy/ss rectifier (modern red) I really love my mids, but i noticed, that I had'em to high, making my lead tone a lil'...

yeah man, I'm not big on bright/bight/bite tones but they're all there in any rectifier. I've heard alot of people say they're dark amps, but I think they're as bright/bight/bite or dark as you want them to be... wait did I make sense???

rectifiers can be tight or loose, it depens on your settings and stuff, but what I've noticed is that my recto sounds tightest when I am playing tight... i used to get that unwanted "after palm mute" buzz, not anymore since I changed my palm muting technique. but I don't mean to sound like a...

I know its going to sound wierd... Before the mod it sounded like a recto, after the mod it sounded MORE like a recto!!! I didn't want them to install a different OT 'cuz I was afraid I was going to get a totally different sounding head. too bad i have to let it go :(

I don't have picks of the PCB at the moment :oops: and it was the standard mod that was done, so no MM transformer. but he did addded a gain boost... WHAT!?!... Yes, a gain boost. I don't really need it but, some people told me I wouldn't have as much gain after the mod... not true Its all...

You know? They are great amps. I was looking into buying one before I found my Recto. They sound incredible and most of the modules sound very close to the originals. If you have the cash you should check out the Egnater MOD100... Hope it helps...
