Victoria Victorilux 310 or a Lone Star Classic?

Thanks for the post. I bought a Victorilux 115 with 6L6's and couldn't be happier. When I want a little versatility, I run a Boss GT-10 through the front of the Vlux and it sounds fantastic. Res

    Lone Star Classic Questions??

I'm looking for a new amp and the LSC is on my short list. Here are a few details about myself and what I'm looking for. I play clean most of the time. The rest of the time it's a lite blues crunch. Never high gain. I play old finger style Chet, and Merle Travis. Some bluesy jazz, older...

Victoria Victorilux 310 or a Lone Star Classic?

I've narrowed my search down to these two amps. I've tried the LSC and thought it was an excellent amp and had the tone I like to hear in my amp. A friend told me I need to try a Victorilux before buying the LSC. In his opinion, The Victorilux is a better sounding and more versatile amp. There's...

Lone Star Classic or Express 5:50????

Playing mostly clean with a little blues crunch. Using PRS McCarty, PRS SC-245, PRS Mira, Fender Tele, Fender Strat and a Gibson ES-339. How do they compare to a Hot Rod Deluxe? Which one would you go for and why? Thanks, Res

    FS: Lone Star Special 410

I'm selling my Lone Star Special 410. I bought the Amp new last May (2007). It's in "MINT CONDITION", and I do mean MINT! It has stayed in my music room since the day I bought it. My music room is Humidity Controlled and no smokers in this house. I've always played at bedroom volume. The...

Reliability Problems With Lone Star Special's???

Got the LSS back today and everything seems fine. In Fact, better than fine. I swear it sounds better than before. They replaced every tube with a matched set. I'm starting to think it had bad tubes from the start. The tech told me that two of the EL84's were bad, but not enough to keep the...

BEG? No, Demand a new amp. Where did you buy the LSS?

Reliability Problems With Lone Star Special's???

At the risk of sounding stupid, what exactly do you mean "swap the inner/outer"? There's four EL84's. are you saying take the two middle tubes and place them on both ends, with the two end tubes placed in the two middle positions? And this is only necessary if I play a lot on 5 watts?

Reliability Problems With Lone Star Special's???

I was told today it's a tube problem. two of the EL84's were bad. They ordered a complete matched set of tubes and they should have come in today. They want to hold on to the LSS for a couple days to make sure everything is OK. I'll keep you posted.

Reliability Problems With Lone Star Special's???

My home was built four years ago. No problem with the electric. It's all grounded and up to code. I used a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410 for three years plugged into the same outlet. Never had a bit of trouble. I guess it's not the 5Y3 tube, since it doesn't work on the 30 watt either.

Reliability Problems With Lone Star Special's???

I bought a LSS 112 several months ago. Right after I bought it, I started having problems with the volume dropping off. They installed new tubes, but the problem cam right back. At the time, I thought it was a blessing in disguise because I was offered a LSS 410 as a replacement. I gave it a try...

    mesa bought by guitar center?

I've been taught to haggle over prices by GC Salesmen. Before I started dealing with GC (about six years ago), I never haggled over gear prices. I'd go into a music store and ask what the price was for any given item. They would give me a price and I'd buy or not buy. The first time I went into...

    mesa bought by guitar center?

Guitar Center usually will beat anyones prices if given the opportunity. This is where they probably don't care for Mesa since EVERYONE! sells the Mesa Amps at the same price. Mesa will pull their amps from anyone who discounts their amps. What GC will do when dealing on a Mesa Amp is, throw in...
