    T-rex Replica vs. Nova Delay

Wonder which one of these I will buy. Think other people might be interested in this as well. Heard great stuff about both, but I don't really know which one to get. Any opinions?

    Mk IV R2

Interesting. I actually have the presence on 1 pushed, treble on 1, gain on 8 pulled, and get this meshuggah sound with the bridge humbucker. The thing is that this settings don't work for other things than mellow leads with neck humbucker or meshuggah. Guess I would bring up the treble and...

    The Mark IV thread....!!

Me, on the other hand, has just found the tone in my mark IV. Actually, there's a bad power tube in it, but it works fine. And if it starts to crackle, I'll just restart it. Nice

    pickups on prs

think I would go for the DiMarzio D-sonic. I also use the bridge pickup for sweeping. I got a PRS custom 24 and uses the stock pickups, but the pups are closer to the strings than normal people tend to have them.

    New Mark IV-Depressed So Far

guess I had the same problem as you. But the amp is nearly new. Sound very thin. After playing for a while, it starts to crackle too. Guess I have to swap the tubes. Mesa is sending new now, but I don't know if it will solve the problem, since I have quite new tubes in it. But they crackle, as...

    The Mark IV thread....!!

My mark IV is really loose these days. Is just no tightness in it at all. I wonder if it is a power tube going bad. suggestions?

    Mesa for metal

something like the opposite of "thin" IMO

    Mesa for metal

For me, I don't think the lead channel on the Mark IV has enough saturation. It sounds very weak above the 7th fret. Therefor I almost have to use a distortionpedal to feed the sound

    Mesa for metal

wonder if petrucci uses the keeley metal zone in his rhythm. I can't get his rhythm sound out of my mark IV

I actually think the powerball is the **** for you. The 5150 is noisy, and the recto isn't that easy to handle. check out www.myspace.com/thesafetyfire for Powerball tunes

    MarkIV atonal pummeling

Yeah, I understand. I just think the lead channel is a bit thin on all mark IV's generally, especially with a scooped EQ. I use the Non-EQ-version of the lead channel when soloing.

    MarkIV atonal pummeling

Thanks! Tight sounding you are. Just felt that the lead sound was a bit thin, a boost would have done it.

    Nothin' but MarkIV

I feel that the Mark IV is too abrupt and rigid on the lead channel with hi-gain settings, so I use a very low boost just to add smoothness. I haven't owned the amp very long, so it might be that I'm not used to it. Try not to use it with boost on

    MarkIV atonal pummeling

bothers me that the files are down now

    no need for boost pedal?

    The Mark IV thread....!!

hi you don't need to screw open that shielded thing. You just turn it around and drag it off. It's just attached to a lock or something, so no screwing needed. And, you should't go inside the amp too much if you're not an expert

    The Mark IV thread....!!

I'll see what I can do tomorrow. The thing has gone bad again, except that the tweed power is working better now.
