    DC3 line out

How is it. I hear it's really pretty much useless, but wanted to know what people think of the DC3 when it's direct recorded

    DC-3

Also, I need to know about this EQ thing. I don't need the EQ on the clean channel but I need it on the dirt channel. So when I use the footswitch I have to click the lead channel and then the EQ switch. It just takes more time. Is there anyway to have the clean channel without EQ and once you...

    DC-3

It kinda sucks that it doesn't sound good at low volumes though. Kind of a bummer actually. I have put it past two a couple times and the higher I went, the better it got. But I'm in an apt, I don't want my neighbors to call the cops.

    DC-3

the tubes are like a year old with very little use. So now I don't know what to do. I've noticed it sounds beeter and better in the higher volumes. Still boxy though. The distortion doesn't SCREAM. I just sounds kinda flabby.

    DC-3

I'M saying I probably wasted $800 on an amp I hate! If it isn't the tubes. I reckon I'm downright fucked Plus, if it was the tubes, wouldn't my clean channel have the problems as my distortion channel

    DC-3

How can it be throaty AND trebley? See the vid I posted (santana). THAT was what I was aiming for when buying this amp. I know I wasn't gonna NAIL it (production, micing, etc), but I at least was hoping for that level of distortion and clarity.. Like I said, maybe distortion pedal on the...

    DC-3

My settings are basically Treble: 10; Mids 10, Gain 8-9; Pres 10; Bass 0 and then EQ with bass fully cut mids same, high mids and treble all the way boosted. And a Telecaster with Vintage SD pickups It doesn't bite. I'm a treble fiend and this just has a throaty quality to it. Like I said the...

    DC-3

No I want brighter. I want treble. Not dark...

    DC-3

Ok, I don't get this. The amp is just throaty. Too bassy. Doesn't do the Santana thing at all. There isn't enough bite. At least on the distortion channel. It's to bluesy. I can tell if I was with a band right now, I wouldn't be able to hear ****. This was supposedly a "great" amp, but to me it...

    DC-3

I agree. The clean channel is orgasmic, I love it. Bright, clear as a bell. But when I kick in the lead channel it turns to **** and goes all muddy and all it's brilliance goes out the window.

    DC-3

so what kind of settings can I get the midrangy stuff at. The clean is great, but when I sawitch it over to lead (same settings) it sounds muffled or like a blanket is over the amp or soemthing. This is at low volumes. How can I get brightness at low volumes??
  12. V

    DC-3

I only really need one sound anyway. I'll wait a little longer and see if I can get the MkIII, but if I can't get one will the DC3 be a suitable (not perfect) substitute? Like I said, I'm not a metal guys or anything like that....
  13. V

    DC-3

So does it do the Santana thing? I love the clarity, so as long as that's there and it's not too bassy, I'm good.
  14. V

    DC-3

    Same here.

    DC-3

Tell me about the DC-3. Like I've said in previous posts I really want the Prince/Santana/mid-rangy sound and am wondering if the DC-3 can do it or if it's not in that vain? I was gonna go for the MK. III, but the DC-3 is more ready available.

    Mesa MK.III (Noob)

Well I'm a single coil guy too. I just don't like the bassy chuga-chuga sound. Like I said, I dig that Santana or Prince like tone. Brightness/treble,etc

    Mesa MK.III (Noob)

Thinking of getting one. The only concern I have is, I DO NOT want that scooped mids metal sound. I've tried a couple other Mesa's and even when you have the mids all the way up, they still sound scooped. It still sounds too chuga-chuga. The one I tried didn't have the seperate EQ thing on it...

    Mesa clips.....

nice. I'm starting to dig..... now what's the deal with some of them having the EQ and some not???
  19. V

    Mesa clips.....

It doesn't have good cleans?? That's all that's really essential for funk...and not to bassy. But I suppose you can dial that out with the onboard EQ. Also, I know (from looking on Ebay) that not all MK.III's have the EQ.............

    Mesa clips.....

    bump....
