    Complete Mark III Schematic

Hi everyone! Old thread I know, but since being able to buy a Mark III blue stripe 60W the schematics is of great interest of mine. Unfortunately only two of five pages are available at the moment at photobucket and the rest of the links does not work. Would anybody be so kind and repost the...

Quesion about the control (Power on) lamp

Thanks gadgetfreak & StevenL Just went through my forgotten mail, and hidden in the masses of spam I found the notifications for this thread! Sorry 'bout not checking in earlier! Thanks again gadgetfreak! I've used several amps on my recordings. On my earlier recordings I used Line 6 Flextone...

Quesion about the control (Power on) lamp

Well, yes I often talk to myself... :D Nobody did answer, and I found out for myself, so for the service of others who possibly searches the net for the answer it was the least I could do. Do you never get frustrated when searching and all you can find is the same question, no answers? And IF...

Quesion about the control (Power on) lamp

Since not having a Fender amp, and only been able to look at spare parts of the Internet the question popped up. By the text on the lamp I couldn't see what it is. Anyway, I will soon find out. I ordered a couple of Fender lamps from Guitar Parts Resource.

Quesion about the control (Power on) lamp

My power on lamp is dead... I dont like the way that looks... :( :D Just wondering. Is it the same type of lamp found on Fender amps; a 6.3 Volts Birne??

12AT7 as Reverb Send and Return (V5)

I've put a Groove Tubes 12AT7 in the V5 position and love it. Just sayin... ;)

Just fell in love with the blues channel

Ok, I hear you FXR! The blues channels tone controls is not that effective. They are way more sensitive on the clean. When using my Gibson on the blues channel it did not really matter how the controls were set. Unless my Express isn't broken the tone controls surprisingly low impact on the...

Just fell in love with the blues channel

Wow... Ever since I got my Express 5:50 earlier this year I've used nothing but Strats and Tele's. So this evening I took out my long forgotten Gibson Nighthawk, played a couple of licks fiddled with the tone controls and... Tone Heaven!!! :D Just WOW! I'm attending a blues...

    Report from a tube-change

There's lots of us who like to keep the tone knob wide open, or close to wide open to avoid muddiness. You do not of course get the ice-pick syndrome of keeping the tone to max 6. But again; some of us do not like the sound in that region. :D Aren't we being picky now?

    Report from a tube-change

The reason for me putting an AT7 in V5 was to reduce the amount of reverb. I had a hard time adjusting the reverb level with the stock tubes. Already when the taper left the zero position to the point where it starts getting hear-able it was too loud IMO, I just want the reverb to be barely...

    Report from a tube-change

Played around with the amp this weekend, and it still sounds good. It wasn't just a placebo effect. :) For some reason this mod allowed me to use the tone controls better. I can get a really mellow sound if I want to but also a crystal clear fender twin type of sound (with a Mesa twist). I use...

    Report from a tube-change

The crucial change was when changing V3 and V4 to SPAX7 in my case. That's when the tone changed for me. Already when the amp was new (to me) I changed the V1 and V2 tubes trying to get a lower noise floor. But that did not really alter the tone. So if you want to try it get one or two SPAX7...

    Report from a tube-change

About the Mesa 6L6GC Red's.. The coding system is Mesa's way of matching the tubes, they have Red, Yellow and Green which means that they have different current ratios. At Thomann.de it's possible to order the different color coded Mesa tubes, and that's where I read about the Red's being...

    Report from a tube-change

At last! My new tubes for my Express 5:50 arrived this afternoon. I've been discussing this in at least two threads but this requires a new thread. The story so far I bought the amp used earlier this year. When firing it up for the first time in my kitchen my emidiate reaction was that it was...

5:50 ice-pickish. Would a speaker change be the remedie?

Finally! I've just placed the order for my tube updates. Since already having SPAX7 in V1 and V2 position i decided to buy 2 more for the V3 and V4. I also would like to tame the reverb a bit, so I decided to get a Groove Tube 12AT7 for the V5 position. All tubes are in stock at...

Mine too. OCD's go great with the Express, they actually go great with any amp.
