    FS: .50 Caliber +

I've been playing bass a lot lately, and this amp deserves a better fate than collecting dust in my room. It's in a non-original (and not very pretty) wood headshell. 4 Mesa and one EHX 12AX7s with low hours, 2 Mesa 6L6s with less than 20 hours on them. No issues, this amp is great! I still have...

    .50 Caliber + effects = poop

This 3 cord method works great for my .50, but when applied to my Nomad, nothing happens. lol. One down, one to go. FX loops for dummies continues. :)

    .50 Caliber + effects = poop

Hey Mrmot, thanks for the help. I connected them in 2 ways: 1. guitar>gt8>effects return and 2. guitar>gt8>input I made sure to disable all of the preamps and cab sims when going into the input, I knew that would cause poor sound. Going into the effects return wasn't bad, it was just like...

    .50 Caliber + effects = poop

You can never have too much gain on a Boogie! Actually, I used a TS-808 patch with the GT-8 and the gain turned down to around 4 on the lead channel and it was great! As for the other effects, they sound good on the rhythm channel, but terrible on the leads. Too much gain maybe? Perhaps a new...

    .50 Caliber + effects = poop

I think this is called "The 4 cord method". I've seen it discussed, but I never thought about it in this instance. Doh! I'll try that. Running a chorus and vibe pedal in front of the amp should yield the same result as running the GT-8. I can set the GT-8 just as a chorus or vibe or other...

    .50 Caliber + effects = poop

The subject title pretty much sums up my dilema. I am not asking for much, just a little chorus and vibe on top of my distortion. I love this amp, but I must have my effects. I suck without my effects. I tried running a GT-8 into the effects return, and that worked, but it pretty much made the...

What's the difference? (.50 cal content)

So I just bought a .50 cal head, and after I sent the money it dawned on me that I don't know the difference between the .50 cal and the .50 cal +. I went to Mesa's site and checked the manuals, they look identical except for a bit about an EQ switch on the "+" version. Is this the only...

    2 Combos

Thank you thank you. It's also pretty sold lol. Thank god, too. I was only going to give it about 48 hours on the block before I kept it. It's like selling puppies.

Nomad + single coils = Heaven!

Seriously. I liked this amp with my PRS humbuckers, but when I plugged my strat and SG Jr. into it I absolutely fell in love! 45 watts of huge soul crushing sound. It really inspires me to play the single coils more, and even those pesky split positions on the PRS.

    2 Combos

Buy these amps, so that I may in turn buy an amp! These are not corks to be sniffed, but I'm not asking much for them either! I've got one Mesa and trying to score a second. These amps are addicting as hell! Flextone II 2x12 combo. My main amp for a while. It's never failed me, but I did...

Help me find the right amp!

I did a bit of research today and I am having mixed results. I have it narrowed down to a few, but between those few I am utterly lost. I was looking at Rectoverbs, but then I found the Tremoverb. It seems infinitely complex, with channel cloning and a bazillion knobs. But between the Rectro and...

Help me find the right amp!

LOL they won't be happy when I play their amps for 5 hours and then not buy anything, but hey, that's what floor models are for, right?

    CLIPS - Rectoverb

Dang! Those clips are making me want a Rectoverb something fierce! Well done.

Help me find the right amp!

The recto blast isn't a necessity, but I would like to get heavy saturated distortion. I will have pedals in the mix, so I could push it with a high gain pedal if need be. I'm think I'm leaning toward a rectoverb. I should look at the local Mesa dealers and see what they have. I'll definitely...

Help me find the right amp!

Wow, 100 lbs! I'm a strong guy, but I would hate to bus that to and from gigs. What about a Rectoverb?

Help me find the right amp!

Greetings Boogie f(r)iends. I'm looking for a Mesa amp, but I'm not sure which one to get. I like to play a broad range of music, jazz, blues, rock, some metal. I need a very diverse amp. I would prefer a combo. I have a 4x12 cabinet, but I hate hauling it out of the house. I like my cleans to...
