    Amp Fizzing Out? Shorted Tubes?

That's a thought, since I was messing around with using an external cab recently, I might have plugged the internal speaker in incorrectly. I only wish I didn't have to drive across town to look at it right now!

    Amp Fizzing Out? Shorted Tubes?

Today my F30 started sounding fizzy & quiet. I put it on standby for a few minutes and it was fine. Could this be the tubes shorting out, as described in the manual? The fuse was not blown. The power tubes are pretty new, not making any noises when tapped. I have a show tomorrow, I'm wondering...

I was wondering the same thing.

    F30 With Extension Cabinet

So if you're plugging in two 8 ohm speakers (including the internal speaker), do you plug them both into the 4 ohm plugs?

    F30 cabinet design question

Is removing the reverb a simple process?

    F30 With Extension Cabinet

Yeah that seemed like a good idea. There's not much space back there to begin with, and the pouch & reverb take what little space there is. But iId prefer to not start taking the thing apart. I think I am going to rig up my Fender Deluxe Reverb as an extension and test it out. I also wonder...

    F30 With Extension Cabinet

Has anyone used their F30 with an extension? I like mine, but sometimes wish it had a fuller sound. I was wondering what results could be had, or if the "lack of fullness" is characteristic of the amp itself. It's plenty loud, just thin at those volumes.

interesting, and you really hear the difference?

    F-30 clean channel settings

I tend to go back & forth on this (things are different at different volumes), and when I lose my way everything goes back to 12:00 Humbuckers: 11:00-12:00 gain 12:00 Treb 10:00 Mid 12:00 Bass 9:00 Reverb 10-12:00 Master Single coil: 1:00 gain 12:00 Treb 11:30 Mid 12:00-1:00 Bass 9:00 Reverb...

EQ attenuation in F-series = better volume control/tone...

So do have the FX Mix at max? Then turn the volume down on the EQ? I never really used the effect loop on my amps, but recently I tried having the effects & the dry at nearly equal volume, and used a volume pedal to then turn on all of the effects at the same time. Since the FX Mix was at...

FINALLY FINISHED closing my F-30 combo's open back!!

I'm interested in the results because, like you, I'd rather not purchase & carry another heavy piece of equipment. But somehow i think maybe an extension cab is the way to go. The F30 has bass, sometimes it's even bassy, but it's not clearly defined bass. I know the tubes play a part, but it's...

    F Series/F30 Lacking Bass?

I'd been using this amp with my strat, but when I played through my Epiphone the difference was huge. No surprise, generally, given that they are completely different guitars, but the bass was very full & it sounded great.

    F Series/F30 Lacking Bass?

Plumptone--thanks, I usually have treble at about 12:00, as the manual described. I'll try messing with that first. What I'm noticing is that while the bass doesn't rumble like the Fender (and yes I have them both on the floor), it's actually very clearly defined. The Fender has a tendency to...

    F Series/F30 Lacking Bass?

I just bought an F30 to replace my Fender Hot Rod, which kept needing repairs. Mesa's are obviously built to be used! While the F30 sounds nice, I notice that it is seriously lacking an bass tones compared to the Fender. This is more noticeable in my living room, and less noticeable with a...
