    Dedicated Racmount EQ Anyone??

I have a Digitech MEQ dual 14 graphic in my rig. It works great to shape tones. What I like most about it, it's midi programmable, so I can have a different EQ curve for every sound I could imagine, the bad part.......I can have a different EQ curve for every sound I could imagine.......lol. It...

I want to start home recording....never tried it.

I'll add a vote for Reaper. I've used it off and on for a few months. If you're familiar with recording software in general already, it should be real easy to pick up, if not there might be a bit of a learning curve. But IMO, it is a pretty good software. I usually use Tracktion as my main host...

Newbie using Midi and effects in loop... Advice please!

There are alot of good rack mounted multi effect processors available today. Honestly, I don't know of a multiffect processor that can't be controlled with a midi foot pedal. I think what really differentiates these processors is the quality of the effects and the features. Some of the higher...

I want to start home recording....never tried it.

If you truly have no experience recording or even if you do, I would highly recommend researching the information here-->http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm. When I first started into the whole recording thing. I read just about everything at that site, and I learned a ton of stuff I never new...

    Budget Recording...

My first set up consisted of a Presonus Firebox, Tracktion 2 Recodring Software, and an SM57. The Firebox comes bundled with Cuebase LE recording software, so you don't even need to purchace recording software. If you're in the marked for inexpensive software, I would recommend looking into...

    Settings for Maxon OD808

I have my TS9 set up about the same as Laskyman, maybe up to 25% gain, but I have my Abunai 2 set up to about 60% gain and level at about 40%. I have it set up this way not so much as a boost, but it really adds some some nice low and mid lows and smooths out the OD into my JMP-1.

    Post your rig part 2

Boof~ Your rigs look killer, and judging by the gear, I'm sure they sound as good as they look. I like the idea of breaking down the racks into two 8 spacers instead of a single 16 space. Much more practical that way IMO. My 16 space is such a beast to move, especially with the 50 pound...

Nice guitar. Looks remarkably well with very little wear and tear for being that old.

    Take a vote

I would say, if it play and sounds good, and you're happy with it.......I'd leave it. But I must ask, how did it get to look the way it does?

The Best Way To Put An End To Pedal GAS?

Cool thanks, I'll check it out.

    EMG p/up height...

I guess alot would depend on how the guitars action was to begin with, and playing style. If I moved the pup any closer, it probably would make contact with the string, but set at .062, works well for my set up.

The Best Way To Put An End To Pedal GAS?

^^ I'd be interested in modding my Dynacomp. What sort of mods are available for that? And what would the mods provide tone wise? I have an extra one I'm not using, so I'd be willing to sacrifice it, if that's what it came to.

    EMG p/up height...

I have my EMG 81 (bridge position) set at .062 (1/16") on both high/low E strings.

    Favorite Strings for Low-Tuned Metal?

I've always used .009-.042 or .046, even when I was tuning down to B (in my death metal days). To my ears, the heavier gage strings tended to sound muddy with my set up.

The Strip (ever been to Vegas?)(mark2b, pdi-09, mass lite)

Nice set up you got there. How do you like the Deja Vibe? I've been trying to get myself a KR Megavibe to add to my pedalboard. Where do you put the vibe in your signal chain?

What is a boost pedal for?

When I use my OD pedals for boosts, I always add some distortion too, so I'm not sure if just adding a level adjustment would give you the added compression/sustain. I've never used a dedicated "boost" pedal either, so I can't say for sure how that differentiates from using an OD up front.
