    Dimarzio .vs Seymour Duncan?

jbs really dont respond as well as other pickups do for lower tunings with a 7 especially if your playing heavy music. Id say get emgs, I can personally vouch for them. if you like a brighter sounding pickup with tons of gain, articulation and attitude like i do, than the 81-7 would be...

    whats a guy to do?

As ibanez sed I'd check out the stilletto, its an awesome amp for that modern, aggressive, british, el34 sound. You also might want to look into a lonestar that also has a good marshally tone, yet its more traditional with its gain structure but still a british hi gain sound. Its closer to a...

    NAD: the green rackto!

That amps gotten around more than herpes at a ***** house  It seems like every time I go on to ebay I see that thing for sale :? Its a good idea goin for a 2nd rack, I bet the one you have now weighs a good amount with the racto. Anyways best of luck with the new amp, and have fun...

    Voodoo Amps Mods

i know a few guys over at harmony central that have voodoo modded rectos you might wanna ask over there. I gotta say from hearing from a few ppl that have had them, when you get the amp modded its pretty much a totally different amp. not really the recto sound that your used to, its a bit...

Does using casters reduce bass response?

I've run cabs both ways, imo casters sounds more accurate than running one on rubber feet. when a cab is on the rubber feet it couples with the floor and the bass radiates more, hense more bass. I'm gonna be honest and say that the only reason why i always used casters with my setup is because...

Good amp for somewhat heavy rock (yet not quite metal)

I gotta agree with jdurso the sig x is absolutely amazing for mid gain toanz. I'd go out to say that i really like it better for mid gain than stupid heavy stuff that ive been using it for. It has so many different sounds in it that you really cant beat it for the money. Just boost the mids...

Your tricks for a SICK lead tone?

    1) boost your **** mids, add sum gain and take away some bass 2) get an overdrive /tubescreamer (ts9,bbpre, ocd, etc.) 3) get a good neck pickup thats smooth and not overly bassy 4) set your pickup heights and intonation 5) learn to play

Heh...look what the (UPS) cat dragged in!

Who here uses an outboard EQ with their Mesa?

I use a dbx 231 eq. I use it to cut the mid bass fuzz and the upper highs that create fizz. Its alot more precise than a 7 or 10 band eq and more like a scalpel instead of a hatchet when cutting or boosting your toanz. I normally cut out more bass in the recto cuz it just becomes...

    Pinch Harmonics and tube amps

hmm i think your doin something wrong there buddy. If you cant pull pinch harmonics on a tube amp than your doing something wrong or theres something wrong with A) your amp B) your tubes C) your guitar. check your intonation and make sure your guitars setup proper it will make your harmonics...

    humming

you can try one of two things invest in a furman or monster power conditioner, these can do alot when it comes to dirty power situations. I remember a studio i went to last year was absolutely horrible, I had so much noise, and i was running my decimator and there was no change at all, it took...

    roadster head, not enough treble?

I'll be honest your settings on a mesa at one extreme or another will most likely result in a sound you will not like most likely it'll be harsh muddy or fizzy. Your best bet is to start somewhere in the middle like previously suggested and work your way through the eq methodically. keeping the...

    ANDY TIMMONS RIG AND SETTINGS

Yeah that was his touring rig, it was at rudys music in NYC. It was put on by Mesa as one of their Artist Clinic deals, so he was in the corner of the main room, hense the tubes and other gearz. If you've ever been to rudy's you'd know its not a big place at all, so theres not really much...

    Rack with Amp Heads

yeah id recommend anvil/calzone as the best out there. Agstrom and maxline are also very good but i feel anvil and calzone are the best in the biz. A few guys I'm friends with have agstrom and maxlines over on hcaf and they are extremely happy and tell me the cases are well built and handle...
