    lonestar special or dr roadster?

Also the LSS can sound very different depending on how you tube it. With stock mesas the overdrive is a bit rough (to my ears), JJs smoother and various NOS late breakup tubes smoother still. It takes pedals pretty well, and I've a good recto approximation (apart from the big cabinet of course)...

    Lonestar Special Question

Its because of the old rule of thumb that for an amp to sound twice as loud, it has to be 10 times the wattage. So 50 watts sounds only twice as loud as 5 watts - I guess that means that 30 watts should only sound 10% louder than 15. Its also why the Lonestar Classic at 100 watts doesn't sound...

Good cables - what a difference

Just got some high quality cables, and an LSS which sounded great already sounds much clearer and more articulate. Amazing. Wouldn't have thought it would make such a difference. I went with GeorgeL's, but any high quality cable will probably do the same.

Made my LSS sound like a Recto monster

They've got some decent clips on their website - they used a clean rectifier for the samples, which is cheating a bit if you ask me, but my little amp sounds quite close to what they are getting. A big difference is the cabinet, but I'm using a cab simulator to do the same thing for recording so...

How do you handle loud volumes--neighbors

+1 to the speaker simulator, but I'd suggest the sequis motherload - wonderful sound, with both attenuator and cab simulation.

Made my LSS sound like a Recto monster

Apart from the big recto cabinet of course! I'm not a metal player, but needed a metal sound for a song I'm working on. Looked around a lot, but most of the metal pedals sounded ugly to my ears. The closest approximation I found is the new damage control solid metal pedal. Now my little...

Has anyone here used/is using an AxeTrak?

A sequis motherload is perhaps a bit more flexible, and from experience worth looking at. A very different sort of approach.

Black Screw Sticking Out Of LSS

So you're saying its a screw for relieving tension from your chassis? Now there's an idea...

    LSS and G-System/Major channel switching

Anybody have any experience? Do I use the standard LSS footswitch cable, and can it be setup to switch the amp's solo function on/off as well as channel switching? Also, which of the G-system switching presets should I use with this combination? All advice appreciated!

    Best guitar with LSC?

Parker Fly Mojo sounds great with both LSS and LSC - tappable Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz pups plus piezo.

Recording a LSS through the slave out?

I've always wanted to rule. Do they send the Crown and Sceptre in the post, and do I need to start wearing purple?

    Metal distortion pedal with LSS

I'm not a metal player, but I'm looking for a pedal to do over the top metal type distortion with my little LSS. I've tried a MG Music Muff Feliz, which I liked, but am also considering a Pete Cornish G2/P2 or EH Metal Muff. Analogman modded Boss DS1 has also been recommended. Anybody tried...

Recording a LSS through the slave out?

Sequis Motherload - speaker emulator and dummy load - is exactly the thing for the job. The problem with a lot of speaker emulators is recording high gain sounds as well as clean, and the controls on the Motherload make both easy to do. This article covers it pretty well...

    Best multi-effects with a Mesa?

Scott, when you say the g system falls sonically between the g major and g force, what do you mean exactly?

    Best multi-effects with a Mesa?

Tried a TC G System - sounds fine, but the metal case weighs a ton - nice shiny chrome, but too much hassle to lug around for the price. Am thinking more seriously about the G Major suggested (they say it sounds the same, without the extra bells and whistles) - how difficult is it to set up the...

    Best multi-effects with a Mesa?

Having done a little more digging, the TC G System actually looks pretty impressive (which it would need to be for the price). But I've also read that it introduces noise into the system, which you need to take out using its own noise reduction. Has anyone used it with a Mesa, and is it much...

    Best multi-effects with a Mesa?

I think that the LSS has a series loop, so don't know how that impacts which units will work. And doesn't have to be digital - are there analogue multi-effects units?

    Best multi-effects with a Mesa?

I'm playing through a LSS and using a POD XT for multi effects - I like the effects, but the unit itself alters the tone even when everything on it is switched to bypass (the unit is not true bypass). Anybody got suggestions? I mostly use its compressor, delays and tremolo, but like the...
