To V or not to V

Hey roland we are in agreement regarding the beat it solo, but what I meant was even if I play things note for note I'm not trying to copy the exact sound. I play things with the sounds I feel comfortable playing with. Tell me about the different bass response between the V and the IV. Geiri

To V or not to V

Hi Roland and thank you. This is what started to become pretty clear to me when I thought I was ready for an axe. I use three basic sounds clean crucnh and lead. Mostly crunch and lead. And for flavour I like a little verb, some delay and when I'm wearing my spandex suit with the hairspray in I...

To V or not to V

Hi steve and thank you I guess my next step in this process is to go go my local mesa dealer and spend a day or so with the V. To bad I'm working overseas and won't be home for a month or so. I guess I'll just keep gassing ;)

To V or not to V

Hello there boogie bro's and ho's Long time since I've posted here, good to be back. I've been trying to assemble a wicked digital rig and up until to day I was ready to buy an axe fx. Then it hit me, All I ever do with modellers is trying to emulate my mk4. The mark voice is my voice and the...

    Zakk wylde bullseye gibson ?

I agree on da heritage thing. I've done some research and an heritage is way better bang for the buck then gibson. But a strange thing has happened since I started this thread. I traded my les paul studio for a music man axis super sport and cured my guitar gas. Now the question is, what should...

    Mark IV users...please read

I agree with the above posts. When I have late night practice at home with everyone sleeping I have the master just below 2 and the channel master at about 2 also. I run fullpower and this is still quiet enough to not disturb the family but still retaining the balls and the voice of the amp. At...

Seriously now, personal preference, mark III, mark iv ??

I have a IV my friend had a III. We got together to compare amps. To be totally honest I loved 'em both. The only reason for me to own a IV over a III is versatility. It's got nothing to do with tone. These are two brilliant amps and if two channels is enough for you the get your self a III.

    Mark IV Pull Shift

I went the other way around. Used the pull shift on r2 and lead from day one. Now two years later I'm loving the push shift.

Daisy you just made me buy the **** thing  I had never given this box a second glance but after scorching the net I bought one. Thanks for the tip. Geiri

Boss sd-1 or mxr zw od ?

Thank you daisy bright and thin is not what I had in mind. I did not know that the gt was this cool. I'll be cheking that one out.

Is the Mark IV for me?

Plus 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000. All kidding aside, I've been playing for over 20 years and in that time had a couple of rectos, a few marshalls a stilletto and an f-50 and a few line6 amps. When I finally got my self a MK IV my amp gas was cured. I've had that sucker for a...

Boss sd-1 or mxr zw od ?

Ok dudes, I need some help with this one. What I want to do is to dirty up channel two on my mk IV and with the same settings on the od push the lead channel into a little more liquid territory. Which one is the better for the job ? I used to have a zw od to liquify the fluid gain on my...

thinkin about the AXE FX again.......

What ever rocks your boat my friend. The axe is one evil machine and you can't go wrong with it. My gas will be cured with the mk v I'm saving for. Really not big on effects and mostly use delay for a little ambience.

What am I looking for in a triaxis ???

Well I love my IV and will probably never sell it. But it has it's weak points which have been eradicated in the V. Like the first two channels seem to be way more useable on the V over the IV.

What am I looking for in a triaxis ???

Thank you scott. Maby the triaxis 2:90 rig is an overkill for my needs. So let's keep the MKV option open.

Best settings when using an overdrive pedal with the Stilett

I used to have a stilletto trident and at the time I had it I had a tc electronics g system in the loop and the mxr zakk wylde in front. The settings on the od were gain 0-10 % tone 50 % and volume 90 %. A really nice lead sound which seemed to bring out the best in the amp for leads. I was...

How many use Line 6 DL4 in a Boogie FX Loop

Hi there I use to have the green one from line6 and used it both with my stilletto trident and mark 4 amps. No problem what so ever. I'm now using the boss dd20 with the mk4 and love it. At one time I also used the pod xt bean as an effects processor in the loop of my stilletto and no problem.

What am I looking for in a triaxis ???

Then there is the poweramp dilemma. Some say a tri with out a 2:90 is like candy with the wrappings still on. So if I wanted to build a nice little portable rack system it would kinda defeat the purpose if the rack would end up out weighing my combo :( I probably will end up buying a tri...

What am I looking for in a triaxis ???

@ ando No worries I'm not dismissing anything. After my last post I realized that I don't really want another set up right now. What I am most interested in is just what you suggested and was my initial idea. To get myself a tri and use it with the mk IV. If then I come to the conclusion that a...

What am I looking for in a triaxis ???

Hi chip and thank you for tour detailed answer. I have to confess that I thought the dynamic voice was several different eq settings. Not just more or less scoop. Hmmm maby I need to rethink this. I could get the eq control I crave with a good effects unit and my mk IV. And more or less gain...
