    New head, or better cab?

unforunately I haven't tried a lonestar yet...so I cannot tell...but theres a setting on this site called warm heavy sound and I've notice it is on clean mode concerning the drive and not on "high gain"... so I presume it can get vene more brutal.... the only thing is I'd like to know if someone...

Need some advice on the Lone star combo amp

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

thanks..I've read it.....I wasn't expecting for such a change! I don't like pedals at all...and like reverb...... the only thing....the lonestar has his own voicing...but apart from gain I'm here talking of the voicing, the tone of the amp....is it close to another mesa or not? about the...

    New head, or better cab?

in fact..I've got to admit..that I don't want any pedal to disturd me...lol so the only thing I can do for example for a stiletto ace is to change the tubes and put 6CA7.....and a tung sol in V1.... so every mesa is close to another? so a lonestar can do mark IIC+?

Need some advice on the Lone star combo amp

I'm glad to hear that this amp is very reactive according to the pickups used.....so...ok it won't sound like a recto...but to what amp with a closed back cab and my pickups, to what amp could you compare your lonestar in terms of agressivity and gain?a mark?which one? I've read that the...

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

...isn't there a pedal that could add gain without modifying the tone and the voicing of the amp? so a gain booster ..really transparent...for example...I would swicth the booster on for metal stuff....and for the solos use the solo switch on the lonestar....no? cause a disto pedal will change...

Need some advice on the Lone star combo amp

and if someone wants to do metal with a lonestar for example.. I mean is there a solution for adding gain without changning the tone? a booster very transparent....?
  15. B

    New head, or better cab?

so a stiletto with other tubes such as tung sols go into recto territory easily?

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

EDIT:I mean....the stiletto seems reeally great...I know the voicing of these two amps are different but I like the two tones...but the lonestar has such a great reverb... and yes not a long time ago, people like metallica did metal by pushing at their maximum their amps..... actually...if I...

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

ok I'll contact one tube guru 8) the idea in order to have high gain metal stuff(even if not extreme) would be to put this head on a recto 2x12 cab , to change one tube or two and to play with my guitar esp equipped qith emg81 and 60...

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

I know....but the thing is....personnally....well when it comes to such great amps, EL34 voicing or 6L6 sounds are to die for IMO.....each has its advantage....it's true that in order to be entirely satisfied I should buy two heads or a road king...but not enough money.... and well.....this is...

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

did I tell something really stupid or does it make sense?(this interests me a lot)... imagine: a mix of a superb clean, a fabulous reverb and a distortion that can dial with metal.... (cause IMO, a lot of guys think only a recto can do metal.......ok but other amps can do it with their own...

changing tubes in a mesa...does it bring a lot?

in other words...taking for example a lonestar special head put on a recto cab and with some more agressive tubes.......ca it do hardrock/metal? (of course with its own voicing....I mean..the combo is quite close to a markI..so with all this it could be close to a markIIC+ or mark IV no?)
