    Converting a combo to head?

I'm interested in this topic, too. I'd like to convert my MK I into a head and keep the reverb. Has anyone done it without having to have a head where you mount the reverb tank upside down in a cutout?

Tell me about the Sus-4 mounting system

I've never seen the inside of a Boogie head setup. Is there anything unique about them? Like, do they use a shielding plate over the chassis, anything like that?

Tell me about the Sus-4 mounting system

Cool, then I don't have to worry about locating any particular head cab. In fact, I have one from a Sundown amp that I think I can use. Are there any recommendations about mounting the reverb tank? I don't want to get it too close to something and pick up some hum.

Tell me about the Sus-4 mounting system

I just got a Mk I reissue and the chassis is mounted with what I think is called the SUS-4 suspension system? It's pretty cool, I've never seen an amp mounted like this. I assume it's to help isolate the amp from cab vibrations in a combo setup. Are the heads mounted this same way? I'm thinking...

    Post your rigs

It's one of the Vintage Mahogany LP Studios. All mahogany body, mahogany cap, faded brown finish. Burstbucker Pro p'ups. I love the thing. It weighs less than 7.75#. It really screams through the Boogie 8)

    Post your rigs

I recently picked up a MK I reissue. Can't believe I waited so long to try a Boogie, considering some of my benchmark tones were made using these!

Speaker suggestions/opinions for mark IV or other marks

The CL80s would be a good bet, they really let your amp do the talking. I really like the MC90 in my MK I reissue. You can get those from Mesa directly. The EVMs would be killers, but the cab would end up weighing a metric ton when you're done.
