Rewiring a Mark III's outside sockets from triode to pentode

Green Stripes are pentode only on the outer sockets. Look at page 8 of the MK IV B schematic for reference. PM me if you dont have it.

Looking for empty shell for a rackmounted Mark IV

How about a short poem. As far as I can see, sadly your amp is still a C. And how dare you make fun of Tom Selleck !!!!!! There you go Tom, no, no , no none for you Higgins !!!!!

Looking for empty shell for a rackmounted Mark IV

I have one. GTS MK IV style with improved fan mounting and in my opinion, better than Mesa quality wise. Tolex is flawless !!!! Even has velcro front panel for quick access to the preamp tubes. Bad news, you have to get your own....

    Pre Boogie Amps

Not very helpful are they ? Get some gut shots of the Fender up and let's take a look.

    Instrument cable as speaker cable...

Most likely, no long term damage but damn that's dangerous. That guitar cable was probably very hot and the tone must have been terrible. To make sure I never do this, I use speaker wire that's thicker than a car battery cable.

Mark III green stripe head and 2x12 vert metal grill cab

I need to ponder about getting that amp back. One of the best cleans I ever hear from any Boogie.

    mk3 issue help!

Make sure pins 1 and 8 are connected on the outer sockets, follow dave62's advice and check the 470 Ohm and 2K7 screen resistors and throw out those EL34's. There toast.

    Latency MkIIC+...

Tough one to diagnose. Try cleaning the effects loop jacks first then pre and power tube swap second if clean jacks don't resolve the issue.

    Less Gain For Lead Channel?

You have to admit there are a ton of ceramic disc caps in the "famous" Boogie lead channel. This no doubt has some effect, but it also has a ton to do with how the gain is structured. My memory of an actual MK III is fuzzy. Maybe we should compare it to a IIC+. It seems on the III schematic...

    Less Gain For Lead Channel?

On the ++'s I have seen they have the 20pf and two 3.3M resistors in paralell for the circuit to the lead input and output, a 1000pf cap across the second lead stage plate resistor and the .02 cap that feeds the 680K resistor to the lead input (.02 not on schematic, but it's in the middle of the...

    Less Gain For Lead Channel?

Does it have a 1000pf/.001uf capacitor across the (V3) second lead stage 270K plate resistor ?

Mark 1 reissue filament grounding ..

If the filament tap has no center tap, use two 100 Ohm resistors for ground reference. If you don't, you will more than likely have well above 6.3V in the 15+V range. IIRC on the last Fender PT I was working on, without ground reference I was at 22V.

    Mark IV model B problem

I dont know how much help resistance in the circuit will help. Try continuity (Beep Mode) and voltage. See if you can make a connection from Q6 to D3, then D3 to LDR 26 then LDR 26 to R312 and finally R312 to ground for +12V. See Page 9 of the schematic. Also, using an LED flashlight with a...

    Mark iv resistor help needed

Most likely: 470 Ohm Dale 3 Watt Fireproof Metal Oxide. The other inner 6L6 uses the same resistor so you can look at that for 100% verification. If your in the USA, call Boogie and they will send you one.
