    Homebrew Mesa?

You could try the sloclone forum. There are a bunch of hi-gain amps that have been built there and they may have some information that could help you.

Bugera Mark Clone amp!! Holy Likely Lawsuit Batman!!!!

The prosonic is the one that comes immediately to my mind. It was produced from 1996-2002 which puts it as a contemporary to the dual rectifier.

Bugera Mark Clone amp!! Holy Likely Lawsuit Batman!!!!

The only way Mesa could win a lawsuit would be if the Bugera looked like a mesa. Which it doesn't. The circuit isn't copyrightable, and bugera designs their own PCB's, which can be copyrighted. So Mesa can't sue for infringement of trade dress or for the circuit. Which leaves Mesa's patents...

    how are the Voodoo mods?

My amp has a lot of balls, but I have yet to see any trannys in it..... I kid I kid.....

Difference between single rectifier 50 and solo 50?

Well, they are not copletely the same. The series 1 solo 50 did not have three modes on the lead channel, it only had Vintage and Modern, while the series 2 has Raw, Vintage, and Modern. Also, on a technical side, the negative feedback/presence control was reworked in the series 2 to work...

Dual Rectifier 2 channel as a preamp

A better method would be to send the FX out into what ever your using to record. The FX send control would then be the volume control, you want to get that as high as you can without clipping your recording device. Then turn the Master Volume on the amp down all the way. You should have the...

It's time to change electolytic cap on my '92 DR...but......

I have to disagree with that statement. I think the reason they don't give out their e-mail address has to do with the amount of time it would require answering those e-mails. It takes no time to send an e-mail, and a person might send an e-mail out just because. Questions like, how does the...

Help me connect my Triaxis Rack PLEASE!

Just to satisfy my curiosity what were the differences between how you wanted to set it up and your bandmate thought it should be set up? It's possible your both correct. I had my G-Major set up in the loop of the triaxis, but eventually switched it to my dual rectifier.

I do appreaciate your help though, don't misunderstand me.

    The "Reborn" Rectfiiers

American Guitar & Band in Maple Grove had two of them in last week. I would suggest heading there to try them out. I tried it with the volume down low and the clean was way better than the older three channels. The other features I didn't really try out much. They also had two MKIV's, A MKV...

    MKIII PCB underside.

Thanks, I can see whats going on under the relay in those pictures. But the two ldrs I was speaking about would be are obscured by wires. :( The trace of one of the ldrs goes under the board, and thats really what I'm looking at.

    MKIII PCB underside.

No, not trying to clone it, just trying to figure out how it works after replacing a few parts and noticing the schematic was wrong.. It's my MKIII so there would be no reason to clone it. Specifically whats going on with the ldr that is missing in the schematic. It is off the cathode of V2A...

    MKIII PCB underside.

Yea, LDR3 is working. Initially I was thinking the relay was not switching, but that seemed to be working when I checked it with the multimeter. I have an idea what components are being switched in and out and when. I've identified what parts are where even with the errors on the official...

    MKIII PCB underside.

Has anyone ever taken a photo of the underside of the mkiii pcb board? I'm trying to trace an issue with the RY2 switching, but the amp is really croweded in that area. I'm hoping a picture of the underside will help me trace the possible issue.

Modding an Amp to add an effects loop

Thats what I was going to say. It would probably not be possible to add a tube fx loop due to space and power requirements. But depending on if the power transformer provides a low voltage tap, you might be able to do a solid state FX loop that would be better than a tube loop. Fx loops...

    Makr III Blue Stripe

There is a local shop here in Minneapolis selling a MKIII for 1400 dollars. It is a 60 watt reverb model with no EQ. I paid 400 dollars for the exact same model because it had a broken knob for a pawn shop.

    Amp - Metal "sag"

I can't comment on why it sounds different other than the transformers. It's a revision F board. I don't really care for the pre-1000 crap that gets spouted but the only major difference from my racktifier and later ones are the transformers. Here's what I know, the rev. C board is vastly...

    Tremoverb mod ?

Those are usually called the bright caps. If you want to find out what they do, go to a store, find a used 5150 or 6505, and play with the bright switch on it. The bright switch on amps usually switches those caps in and out. I wouldn't bother messing with them.

    Amp - Metal "sag"

Correctly put, the first batch of Rectifiers. The Mark transformers were not limited to just the first 500. My rack rectifier has the MKIII transformers and it's serial number is in the 1000's.
