On Mesa's web site I see the single rectifier 50 series 2 and in other web photo's I see single solo 50 on the nameplate. What's the difference between these amps?

They're the same. Might have been names slightly differently at one time, but they're the same amp.

The Single Recto has gone through a Revision, Revision two obviously being the more recent models.

Well, they are not copletely the same. The series 1 solo 50 did not have three modes on the lead channel, it only had Vintage and Modern, while the series 2 has Raw, Vintage, and Modern. Also, on a technical side, the negative feedback/presence control was reworked in the series 2 to work similar to the three channel rectifiers, where as the series one worked similar to the 2 channel rectifiers. The series 2 is actually a better way of doing it. The clean channel was tweaked quite a bit, and the lead channel was once again tweaked to bring it closer to the three channel's design.
