After owning dozens of guitars with EMGs, my favorite 81 mod by far....is to replace it with an 85 :P

Due to Gibson threatening ESP with a lawsuit, the Eclipse II models in the USA have a different cutaway and a different control layout than the CTM. If you'll notice the one I had has the traditional control layout (pre Gibson BS) and the one being sold in this thread has 3 knobs instead of 4...

Yeah just clarify I'm not knocking you or your guitar at all, it's a killer guitar. There are just a lot of idiots out there and these days eBay doesn't give you much protection as a seller. If someone filed a complaint it could be a big pain in your ass...even though most ESP fans know exactly...

The CTM has the old horn and the 4 knob layout. Here's my old one The CTM isn't available in the states anymore. The only real ESP models (not LTD) over here are the ESP Eclipse II and the ESP Eclipse Custom. I'm not ragging on him, just trying to save him a headache if some uninformed person...

That's incredibly misleading. That's a standard series ESP, but with that title someone who didn't know better might be thinking they're getting a custom shop model. I'd change the title of this thread and the title of the eBay auction if it were me.

Well judging by your clips you're not going for an overly tight tone. That's like saying a banjo is overrated. It's just a different style :)

I personally can't stand the 60. Way too shrill for my taste. I've tried it in 3 guitars over the years and have never been very happy with it.

other way around. if you're using EL34's it's suggested to run the amp with tube rectifiers.

I'm currently using PT LE 7.3 and was wondering if any of you guys have used the FXpansion VST to RTAS adapter, and if so is it as cool as it sounds or have any of you guys run into any problems with it?

I run 85's in the bridge of my EMG loaded guitars. They're still super tight, but have some warmth and low end that the 81 is really lacking. I've tried the 18v mod and it's very cool, but for the style of music I play on those guitars I prefer the compressed tone of running them at 9v.
