Vintage Mark-style PCB and chassis kit

That 680 nF , did you tap off of the V2B cathode? I tried a 2.2uf there a few yrs ago. I had a hard time making it switchable. And it really only added white noise to my ears.

Vintage Mark-style PCB and chassis kit

Hey, Mine has a 1n 1k v. Factory installed. It contradicts some schematics. Some say Delete on Simul Class. So, i dunno. MB told me its a bright reduction mod.

Mark II C+ Pre Amp Out / Power Amp In on bottom of chasis ??

I just found this old thread. I've had my C+ for many years and for the first time I finally plugged into the preamp out jack and fed it to my 2:90. Since its just accessing the preamp before the phase inverter based on schematic, I assumed that I would not get any signal to my speaker hooked...

    Major Mark 2c+ Mistake

Old post but I wish repair techs there would tell you/ us exactly what part failed. Instead of just a tiny resistor failed.

    Questions for all 2:Ninety owners

I just seen this. I know its a bit old so at this time , I don't know what you did. Retubbing it would be your call as for piece of mind. The switches may be an issue. But I can relate to your Modern voice comment. I can barely hear any difference. Like you stated, the manual says you'll hear a...

    Simul-Class 2:90 Version I vs II

I have the first version ( blue pilot). As far as I know it may be just the power tube layout but would love to have the opportunity to have one in front of me so I can take a peek inside. Would love to see the tweaks, if any. There are some issues with the plastic clip from the PT melting...

    2:90 Deep Voice.

Greetings. I've been an owner of a 2:90 for years. After some repair and maintenance, the Deep voice when activated, it acts as it should with the low end enhancement but now it also seems to give me a slight boost in signal. As far as I can recall, it never did that. Does anyone else have this...

New amp day - Mesa Mark III - no stripe - #25

Sure. I'm basing this on my C+. I have zero experience with any other MK. While on stand by for app 3 hrs one eve , I opened studio door and its filled with smoke. Sent it to Mike. He rebuilt The affected area. He told me that those resistors get pretty hot. This was mid 90's. Since then , I...

    Mesa Mark IV B changes

I have a C+ and I'm very familiar with the circuitry. The MKIV lead stage is nearly identical except for two or three component values. The 500pf cap in parallel with the 270k R, the pull bright resistor is a 22k. And , did you put that 120pf cap in? It was removed in later C+'s . Are these the...

Mark IIC+ - Guide for Dummies

My DRG C+ has Randall's Sig on it. By the AC cord, there's just a capital r and s in cursive very fine and faint.

    MK 2C+ Class A question

Back when Randall, Mike and Doug were tweaking the idea of a C+, what % of plate dissipation were they shooting for with the 105 PT? I read in different threads here that Mesa biases amps on the cool side as opposed to the " nominal " 70%.

Mark IIC/C+ and III Power Section 1.5K Resistor Placement

My 2:90 power amp uses both. One in Ch. A and the other in Ch. B .

    Mark II ID’ing

Hey Joey, are you the Joey from Slocone forums?

    Mark II ID’ing

That sounds consistent with my experience with my C+ . They blew the dust off mine and shipped her out.

    Mark II ID’ing

That saddens me over your father in laws friend. May he/ she R I P. Mike is super cool to talk to. Dang, I wish that I had a fraction of his knowledge, as well as others here in this forum. But I'm scratching my head over this. I'm kinda leaning with WoodButcher. It looks like, to me, that...

    Mark II ID’ing

There does seem to be some residual solder on upper left on preamp board. Is that normal to have the pilot light there? If not, that may have been where the eq switch was. I dunno.
