Mark 3 simul-class for sale question

That is a completely valid position, honestly nothing wrong with that. Just fire it up once in a while and enjoy it :)

Mark 3 simul-class for sale question

Just my 2 cents. The gear market is always fluid and this current phase of the market is interesting. Maybe better to look at what actually has sold recently and perhaps not so much what Reverb sellers are asking. There is alot of gear listed on Reverb by "not so motivated" sellers with higher...

    Earliest Factory IIC+??

Mesa Boogie MK II C+ original Interesting mostly from the 12283 serial number standpoint. IIC+ for Dummies has "The earliest IIC+ found to date was a 12,33X dated 2/84."

Who is running EL34s in their V:90s?

Just seconding the opinion... with a V:90 and IIC+, which are my reference points, find the EVM is a great fit. It's flat response really reveals the amps inherent character. It's certainly not a fit for any amp but with a Mark it floats my boat. Interesting tidbit is when I was up at Mesa...

Mark V 90W combo speaker change

One of my favorite things to experiment with. The V:90 power amp has so many options. The IIC+ preamp thru the V:90 is amazing.

    Limited Edition JP~2C 1x12 Combo!!!

 yes I have to agree. So the EVM swap was very straightforward, both being front loaded, maybe 30mins and... it was worth it. The Thiele EVM is certainly an improvement WRT to it being in a similar sized semi open back 1x12. If you are one who likes that EVM voicing, you'll really like it...

    Limited Edition JP~2C 1x12 Combo!!!

Indeed FWIW here's one player's updated Thiele C90 musings. The cab design definitely has it's frequency characteristics and was done originally with the EVM in mind. With the C90 it's got a focused frequency spectrum very different then the WB C90 1x12 cab, which was boomy and loose in low...

    Anyone use Xvive VTL5C3 Vactrols?

Pretty sure I've lost one of the LDRs (Pull Shift Treble) on my IIC+. Still need to pull the chassis and verify but in the meantime... curious if anyone has used the Xvive components with success? TIA.

    Limited Edition JP~2C 1x12 Combo!!!

Well @electric mayhem was talking up the Thiele and that stoked my GAS, which isn't hard to do TBH. I certainly didn't need a 9th cab, but a good deal is hard for me to resist and one with a C90 kinda fell into my lap. Glad it did cause yea this is indeed the real deal. Even though I've always...

    Limited Edition JP~2C 1x12 Combo!!!

Dang man... now you are adding fuel to my cab GAS. sigh Yea I do see them pop up out here on a regular basis. Have wondered if I'm missing out cause the 12L in the closed bottom of the vert cab is pretty stout.

Suhr RL: too scooped and boomy, which RL next?

Curious what power arrangement are you running 90-45-10, rect or diode, assuming 6L6s?

    Mark VII - EVM-12L??

Kinda down the speaker rabbit hole at the moment. The Redback has come up a few times and now more then intrigued. Been running a v30 with my EVM and now wondering how different a Redback would be paired with it.

    Limited Edition JP~2C 1x12 Combo!!!

would be very interested in that take. (y) If a small setup is required with a Mark (my case a IIC+ or V:90) then this (not sure what year) EVM 1x12 cab is my first grab and go. I find most physically small cabs or combos actually do sound small, don't own a Thiele, but this just has a huge...

Help me chose an used Mark V

Yea, a reliable seller is a deciding factor for sure.

    Limited Edition JP~2C 1x12 Combo!!!

Fascinating discussion, great vid... the Mark nerds "Dream" video  especially enjoyed the presence details and the choices they made with the JP2C overall. Man they get deep into it. BTW, great, thoughtful questions and directing the conversation and topics.

Suhr RL: too scooped and boomy, which RL next?

FWIW been down this rabbit hole a bit. Started off, years ago, just wanting to crank the amp's power section to get some tube warmth at low vols. My buddy had an old (vintage) Powersoak resistive attn, well that was just a blanket. Then forked for a basic Captor, WOS, etc. Reactive is better...

    Potential New JP2C Owner

From my experience.. some of it depends on the cab. I have a custom vertical 2x12 that sounds very different then my Std Recto 2x12. The vert has a big sound, deep with major presence but it's a bigger enclosure. Personally the closed back Recto 2x12 with v30s, while punchy and focused lacked...

    Potential New JP2C Owner

I currently have the Boss GT-1k Core, a GT-100 before that, never went down the Fractal rabbit hole even though they are great solutions. In the Boss case they are really not designed to be a flexible midi controller, the options for sending midi is limited but perhaps the fractal is more...

    Potential New JP2C Owner

FWIW I run 4CM with all my Mesas and a midi controller upfront to control multiple devices. Can't live without it now.
