    Badlander el34s vs 6L6 smackdown

FWIW... went down the power tube rabbit hole a bit further on the 50W Badlander, didn't plan on it... but curiosity got to me. Sometimes Mesas have options that seem more nuanced then a major difference maker. Case in point the LSS and diode/tube rect 30/15/5W, nice to have but subtle. Even the...

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

ahhh... well darn I guess two III's will have to suffice... for now :ROFLMAO:

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

Yea... exactly there's dynamic range differences for sure between the native and the loop GEQ. I'm not that familiar with the HX Stomp but I guess you're using the "Cali Q Graphic" model. Since I have a Mesa GEQ pedal I use it in the chain with my Boss Core. It's well worth getting a non-GEQ...

oh so tempting... Put a GEQ in the loop and I bet it will sing.

Seen at Seattle Guitar Center: Purple Stripe DRG Mark III

:ROFLMAO: I've always wanted a III DRG since my IIC+ is an HR. But I don't want my significant other to think I'm more of a gear hoarder then I already am.

    Mark VII or Reissue C+?

Yea, my IIC+ is an amazing and totally unique amp. Every once in a while I bring it to rehearsal and it's a boatload of fun. But my other modern Mesas are so much more gig friendly and versatile. Do I notice the tonal difference live, yea a bit. Does it matter in a live mix? Not really. My...

Vintage Mark-style PCB and chassis kit

Ok I finally got a chance to poke around. Without power, the pot switch appears functional, it is either open or closed (Pulled out) WRT the resistance across its contacts and the push/pull position. Same readings at the switch terminals and across R5. The wiring appears to be intact. With...

Mark V QUESTION ON HEAD OR COMBO

Well there are 3 current models of the Mark V each with a different physical size and power rating. They all offer head or a combo versions. Mark V 25W Mark V 35W Mark V 90W The 25W/35W versions have el84 power tubes and will have a different sound. Your dual greenback cab should be rated...

How to assign fx loop on channels 2&3, not to the channel 1?

Yes!!! Going back to your original question. Of course.. if you had the original footswitch you can control the loop on/off as @philosopher posted. Now if you just want to address your original question there are simple bypass switchers they make for pedal boards (no midi) something like this...

Mark V QUESTION ON HEAD OR COMBO

Curious what model of V are you considering? 25/35/90?

How to assign fx loop on channels 2&3, not to the channel 1?

FWIW I use an FCB1010 and control 3 midi devices. Also have looked at the EM and it was pretty straightforward midi wise and felt pretty confident the FCB1010 would work fine with it.

The price of Mark series amps these days. thoughts?

IIRC that wasn't that much of an overpay considering it was fully loaded. There was a point where the prices dipped even further before Covid and I kick myself for not grabbing one of the good deals to be had back then. Sigh III's a great amp, my GAS would certainly be much higher if I didn't...

The price of Mark series amps these days. thoughts?

Sweet, gotta dig that :) Yep, FWIW III's that I've seen move recently here on CL, even with GEQs, are below $1500. Tempting indeed.

An Occasional Chugger... Getting the Badlander to sound like a Classic Rect

I luv my Stiletto Ace... It's raw and untamed, has to be cranked but once it get's pushed it comes alive. The resonance mod, matched with the right speaker seals the deal, at least for me. (y)

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

This is the sensible approach. ;) Maybe there are some dawg IIC+s out there?? I dunno. Mine is an HR with a 100 transformer and it sounds truly amazing to my ears. It had the STR415s, but the new STR448s in there now sound most excellent.

REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

Back in the day the components varied in tolerances and performance pretty accepted that the tone could vary between different amps with the same configuration. Petrucci has stated as much so I tend to believe him :) Looking forward to the discussion when it hits players studios. No doubt there...
