Ive got them both. there is a difference but.......it is small. the maxon seems more transparent then the bad monkey. the od-808 does nt change the sound so much.

it is not difficult to get a recto tight. an eq pedal or a od in front. tighten things up superbly. keep the bass down and turn up the mids. metal heaven

the single recto is easier to dial a good tone and it is much tighter. it is a loud amp so...........

I use both mesa and peavey 5150. the 5150 is great. good compliment to the mesa recto sound

agree too 100 procent. boost it with a od or a eq pedal. keep your mids a little higher
