New Rectoverb 25 head static noise

Glad to hear it. I wish I had called them. Mine started making noise again. I've always heard that tubes didn't fall under warranty so I went out and grabbed some at the local shop. It was only $30 for the set from Mesa but still. I replaced both mine today and so far so good. Hope this fixes...

    Mini Rec question

Doh!!! You sir are a genius. I didn't even think about that. Seriously, thank you. I'm sure I would've eventually over time broken at least one of my tubes and probably cut the hell out of myself.

    Mini Rec question

Slide it across? hrmm... then yes I have been doing it wrong. I've been lifting it straight up and then over the tip of the tube itself which always seems just a hair away from breaking the said tip. Man I wish Mesa would put a little blurb or something in their manual. So if I get what your...

New Rectoverb 25 head static noise

Yep that is the same noise mine was making. If I turned it to standby it would stop then start again as soon as I flipped it back on. Also affected both 10 and 25 watt modes. Does yours stop after a bit of time? Either way I'm sure Sweetwater will make good on it.

New Rectoverb 25 head static noise

Reseated both power tubes last night. So far so good. Last time I only reseated one, which seemed to have helped some, so hopefully this fixes it. Maybe give it a try on yours and see if that has any effect.

New Rectoverb 25 head static noise

I do but not for that long. Only for a couple of minutes at most. Never had an issue with my other tube amps. Just this little guy.

New Rectoverb 25 head static noise

I've got something very similar happening to my Mini Rec. It happens on both channels and turning down the guitar volume does nothing. Whats weird is that mine will happen for about 10mins or so then just go away. I've replaced the V1 and it did nothing, reseated all the preamp tubes, same thing...

    Mini Rec question

Is there an easy way that I'm overlooking to remove the power tubes from this thing? I feel like I'm about to break my tubes when trying to lift the wire holding the tube down. I just cannot get good leverage to pry it over the tubes.

    Almost 1 year now....

Here, here. Been a almost a year for myself as well. The honeymoon is long over but I still luv this amp. Speaking for myself this is it for me. This amp with the versatility of the modes and a couple of pedals give me any sound I want or need. Mesa really hit it out of the ball park with this one.

Spent quality time with Mark V at GC side by side Mark IV

Actually I believe you can. I'm pretty sure there was a thread here on it. IIRC there is danger, as in damaging, if the amp is switched to 10watts when combining tubes.

Confession: I still use the Preset EQ, even after 4 months

Great. Just freaking great. You guys are starting to give me a bad case of GAS. I mean that in a good way. I think. :D

Wampler Triple Wreck into Mark V question

I don't have the TripleWreck but I do have a Pinnacle. It works on the front end of my Mark V just fine. Generically speaking I haven't had any issues with pedals in front of my Mark V. Seems to like pedals just fine.

    General delay question

Just to throw my 2 cents in, it depends on where your distortion is. If your like me, since I use both pedals and amp distortion, I put my delay in the loop. If you are using solely pedals to get your distortion it is fine to run the delay in front of the amp as long as it is after your...

    Bad-sounding mark 5: tube-issue?

Sounds like maybe bad tubes. I have the gain on channel 1 around 11 O'clock and with a duncan custom in the bridge I don't get any crunch. Tons of headroom. No flub on any of the channels.

Problems with the Mark V so far?

Problem alright. Can't stop playing it. :D Have had mine almost a full year now. Get's almost daily play, 1 -2 hrs. More on the weekends. Honeymoon has long been over and I still love this amp. No physical problems so far. *knocks on wood* :!:

    Pickup question

I wouldn't say "need" is the right word. I have Les Paul with EMG's in it not because it "needed" it but because I wanted the clarity it gives when playing high gain. I have other guitars with passive pickups that sound just great with my Mark V. All depends on the sounds one is looking for. Not...

New Member, Mark V Metallica Tone, Questions and Recording

Not sure if this helps but sometime back I posted a link to Flemming Rasmussen's studio notes on recording Master of Puppets and Justice for All. It shares mike settings and EQ settings as well. http://web.me.com/fwrproduktion/FWR_Produktion/Notes_1.html Hope it's useful.

How long did you have to wait (Mark V)

I was quite lucky. I only waited a little over 2 weeks. The shop was gonna order one direct from Mesa which at that time I believe the waiting list was 8 to 10 weeks, but they found a head in another state and had that shipped. The only time I was really glad I went with a big chain store as...

    Styles of Music U play w/Mark V?

Blues, 80's rock, Metallica, Modern, pretty much anything I can think of. This amp is it for me.

    Metallica fans

And the set list was: That was just your life The end of the line For whom the bell tolls Ride the lightning One - Which was freaking awesome!!! Broken beat and scarred Cyanide - They flubbed the opening on this one and had to start over. James was giving Lars **** about timing. :D It was cool...
