    Rack mounted dual rectifier help!!!

http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/2chRecto.pdf That should do the trick. I can't say anything about the footswitch though, sorry.

Dual Rectifier CH. 2 and CH. 3 totally different?

Whoops, my bad... I misunderstood the question. Thanks for the correction

    Was I expecting too much?

It really sounds like you need an overdrive pedal like the Ibanez TS(9 or 808) Don't use the pedal to bring more gain, but to drive the preamp tubes harder and to remove some of that flubby low that you are experiencing. It is pretty much an "industry standard" in the metal scene. Some amps...

Dual Rectifier CH. 2 and CH. 3 totally different?

Pretty much nothing like that. People often use way too much presence on the red channel and then wonder why it sounds fizzy  The presence control on the red channel of a 3channel Recto is very, very aggressive. I usually have mine at about 8-9 o'clock. The orange channel is darker due...

How can i get a better DEATH METAL sound outta TRI-RECTO?!?!

Cheers! Glad you liked it. It was my Schecter Hellraiser C-7 with EMG 707's, Ibanez TS9 as a boost, Triple Recto, red channel, modern, bold, diodes, Recto 4X12" cab. And like I mentioned before, the guitar tracks are completely raw, no editing. And yep, the amp was turned pretty **** loud!

How can i get a better DEATH METAL sound outta TRI-RECTO?!?!

This is something I just tracked with my Triple Recto. Maybe a bit too melo-death, but you'll get the picture. http://www.soundclick.com/tomir The drums are totally improvised, I recorded myself jamming with my drums a while back, and the tracks were never meant to be used, but I wanted to...

How can i get a better DEATH METAL sound outta TRI-RECTO?!?!

The overdrive pedal is supposed to drive the preamp tubes so it needs to be before the amp. It removes some of the low frequencies from the guitar signal itself and adds a bit more mids. Pat O'Brien from Cannibal Corpse uses a Boss Metal Zone as a boost with his Triple Recto. Turns the...

How can i get a better DEATH METAL sound outta TRI-RECTO?!?!

Well, the standard thing for getting a great metal tone out of a Recto is to use a boost pedal like the Ibanez TS. It really makes a big difference! Don't use it to add gain, but to compress the guitar signal a bit and to drive the front end of the amp. For brutal metal tones, I have used...

    4x12 orange vs Mesa 4x12...

I actually own both, a Mesa Rectifier Standard 4X12" and the Orange PPC412. They are both awesome cabs, they just sound very different from each other, even with the same speakers. The Orange cab is more focused on the upper mids and mids in general, where the Mesa cab is a lot more neutral...

Question from a newbie about high gain sound..

I think the guys at the shop have misunderstood what a TS does to a Recto, it's not to make it more versatile (alltough I LOVE to use on the green channel with the pushed mode on) but to tighten the low end and to compress it a bit.

Question from a newbie about high gain sound..

Those are settings for the older 2channel Recto, Sneap has a Rackmount Dual Rectifier that he used on that album. Having the presence at 12:30 on a 3channel Recto is, in my opinion way too bright and it makes the treble too dominating. I love the guitar tone on DHIADW and EOR! I tried to make...

Question about which cab to use with the DR

For me personally, a Rectifier only sounds like a Rectifier through the Recto Standard cab, just because that combination, for me, sounds like what I want a Rectifier to sound like. Maybe it's just because of the fact that the majority of the Rectifier tones on albums have been recorded with...

Question from a newbie about high gain sound..

The standard thing to do with a Recto is to throw an overdrive pedal in front of it. The Ibanez Tubescreamer in it's various incarnations is usually a sure bet. This is pretty much the industry standard when playing metal, and I would go as far as saying that 90% of the metal albums that were...

    Anyone A/B'd Recto and Orange 4 x 12's

I remember how suprized people were when they saw my black PPC412 for the first time, since they didn't even know they existed. I got mine over a year ago, and there was hardly any of 'em around at that time, mainly because people didn't know that the black ones even existed.

Engl for rhythm, Boogie for leads?

I have an ENGL Invader and a Triple Rectifier and I personally prefer the Recto over the ENGL. The Mesa is more natural sounding, not nearly as compressed, more dynamic and more aggressive sounding when needed. The ENGL is a great amp though!

    Anyone A/B'd Recto and Orange 4 x 12's

Yep, it's pretty much a combination of both the speakers and the construction. The Mesa cab is a lot bigger, thus it has more low end and smoother high's whereas the Orange cab is smaller in size, tighter sounding but with more high's and upper mids. It's just a matter of personal preferences...

    Anyone A/B'd Recto and Orange 4 x 12's

I have both the Orange PPC412 and the Mesa Rectifier Standard cab. The Orange cab is a good sounding cab, but I didn't like it with my Triple Rectifier at all. The Rectifier Standard cab however is a perfect match for a Recto, and it sounds killer with other amps as well. Smooth with tons of...

    Popping

Yep, I am talking about the click! I can get rid of the pop by doing the tap dancing routine before I turn the amp on. Yeah, that sound doesen't bother me at all, just wanted to make sure it was normal. Cheers!
