Which cabinet ... Lonestar or Rectifier 2X12?

I'm getting a Lonestar Classic head and have found equally good deals on either a Lonestar 2X12 open back or a Recifier 2X12 closed back(low version, not slant back). I am a mostly clean player who will only be playing at home. I will not be playing high gain or high distortion at all. The...

Did I buy the right amp?

Just a couple things to keep in mind. The 5:50 (and many Boogies) is very bass heavy, especially with humbuckers. The bass is affected by the bass knob and the contour, so be careful with them. In the 50 watt mode I use the bass knob at about 9. You can't leave everything at 12 with a...

Did I buy the right amp?

My 5:50 2x12 replaced my Twin. I play mostly clean and at home so it fits my needs very well. I would not pick the 5:50 as a high gain amp, although I much prefer it to a Super-Sonic. In your case though, I would recommend the LSC because it will give much more flexability and power than your...

FS 07 Lonestar head and 2X12

Where are you located, what color are cabinets, is it a 10-50-100 LS, and why are you selling? Thanks

Probably been asked before, but: Express 5:50 or LSC???

I have a 5:50 2X12 and love it. It replaced a Twin and gives me terific cleans and a lot more. But I only play in my basement. The obvious single difference is price. You will find that the LSC will give you more clean headroom, but you'll need some large venues to need it. The 5:50 can be...

Best guitar/amp combo for me anyway

One of the key elements here is the bass at 9. 6L6s with a bucker can give you overpowering bass with a Boogie. Too many people turn the bass up ...

Can I use a Boss pedal in a paralell loop or not.

I use a DD-20 in the loop of my Express 5:50, and it works great. The two head tape effect works very well and the four memories make it very simple to use.

    Express 5:50 extension cab

In this picture you will see in the back on the left a 5:50 1X12 sitting on a 1X12 cabinet. In the Boogie price list it is part number 0.xcbb-ex and the price is $369.00. http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Express/Express-group-enlarged.htm

Interested in the Express Series.....so is it for me or not?

Sounds like it would work fine for your needs ... but demo, demo, demo. You also might consider just getting two 1X12 cabinets and spread them apart for better dispersion.

MESA BOOGIE 525 VS 550 ! Which one & why? (Any input?)

It is less prominent in the 5 watts mode, but still there. It is a combination of things, but the speaker certainly is a part of it. Try the 2X12 5:50  My 5:50 replaced a Twin.

MESA BOOGIE 525 VS 550 ! Which one & why? (Any input?)

If you are coming from a Fender amp and play more 6L6 and especially clean sounds, then go toward the 5:50. If you are coming from a Marshall amp, prefer the EL84s and distortion, then go toward the 5:25. Both are great for the home player (like me).

    Street Price on a LSS

The price for a 1X12 LSS in the states, from the August 2007 Mesa price list, is $1,699 plus any taxes. All dealers will sell the LSS at that price.

Any reviews on the New Lonestar w/ 100-50-10 w setting?

I can't tell if you are looking at the LSC more because of the 10 watt mode or because of the 100 watt mode. If you don't need 100 watts, you might want to at least try the Express 5:50 1X12 for about 2/3 the cost of an LSC. It is a 6L6 amp and runs at 5 or 50 watts. I only play at home and...

which is better the Express or Roadster

Beserker: I used to use either a GT-8 or ME-50 with my Twin. With all the available sounds from the 5:50 I now only use a DD-20, an RV-5 for extra verbs, and a PH-3 that I use sparingly. The amp can do the rest.

    Express Review

I used to run an ME-50 in the loop that worked fine. Now I only use a DD-20 and an RV-5 and am very pleased with the results.

    Express Series Notes

All amps are designed to compete at a price point and to beat their competition. I see the Express 5:50 as competing directly with the Fender Super-Sonic, Bassman, Super, and Twin ... not a Recto. My Express 5:50 2X12 easily replaced my Twin and blew the Super-Sonic out of the water ... to...

    Lonestar or Super Reverb?

I replaced my Twin with an Express 5:50 2X12 because the cleans were just as good ... plus I got the 5 watt mode, 2 channels, gain, 2 reverbs, contour, etc, etc, etc. Compared side by side the LSC should give you everything the Super does, plus so much more. Both played loud and clean they...
