    Still no LSC

If you showed your location in your signature like many of us maybe someone with an LSC near you would invite you over to try theirs.

    Differences between 5:50 and LSC?

You are correct about the gain, I'm mostly a clean and sometimes a crunch player. I didn't have the LSC after the 5:50 ... I had both of them in my basement sitting next to each other going back and forth for two weeks. The LSC (to my ears) definately has a tighter and more punchy bottom end...

    Differences between 5:50 and LSC?

I may be the right person to answer this. I had a 5:50 2X12 for six months and now have an LSC head with 2X12 cabinet. They are very similar and yet different. They both have great cleans and reverb and a ton of headroom. Express 5:50 Positives: Very easy to change modes ... clean and...

With the cabinets spread a little bit apart ... it might even sound better. Try what you've got first ...

Question for all you Lonester classic users

They don't come much better than an LSC. As you can see from my stuff listed below, I cover both singlecoils and humbuckers, and love the LSC for both. However, I come from a more clean blackface background and the 6L6s work well for my sound. If I came from a Marshall high gain backgound, I...

    First Gig Impressions With LSS

I have had many Fender amps, starting with a new Bandmaster and my Twin was replaced by an Express 5:50 and then an LSC Head and 2X12 cabinet. I have also spent some time with an LSS and Express 5:25. I actually like the cleans on all of them better than a Twin or DRRI. I don't think it is a...

Which is the better Grab-N-Go? Express 5:25 vs Fender DRRI

Dan: I used Fender amps for over 40 years and the Twin I last owned had four different problems in 8 months. If I had to own another Fender amp it would be an upgraded silverface or blackface. Too many problems with the new ones. All amps have problems, including Boogie ... but your odds are...

    New Express 5:25 1x12 Combo - 2008 Price $1229

I think they are priced about where they should be in the market. They are under the Super-Sonic and offer way more, and they are about the same as a Rivera Clubster, which they do compare well with.

    best clean channel?

I have a Lonestar Classic head and 2X12 cabinet and have owned MANY Fender amps including a Twin and I'm sure the LSC will give you what you want. I replaced my Twin with an Express 5:50 2X12 and that is very nice also. The LSC just has a little more punch and a tighter bottom end. If you...

Which is the better Grab-N-Go? Express 5:25 vs Fender DRRI

If you plan to use pedals with it anyway ... why not save some more money and get a Hot Rod Deluxe. It's only 3 pounds heavier. If you aren't going to go for a Twin or Super ... I prefer the HRDX for cleans over any of the other less expensive Fenders.

Tone of the single-end mode on LS or LSS

I have an LSC head and 2X12 cabinet and only play in my basement. I use the 10 mode exclusively and it does a terrific job at giving me the 6L6 punch and tight bass at very low volume ... much better than my Twin did. I started with a Bandmaster in 1962, play mostly clean, prefer the...

    Best Mesas for low volumes?

The crunch mode on channel 1 of the Express 5:50 is VERY nice at 5 watts.

    LoneStar Classic Questions

I have an LSC head and 2x12 cabinet and only play at home. With both the LSC at 10 watts and the Express I had before at 5 watts, you just can't get a great, punchy bass when playing clean. So I play ch1 at 50 watts clean and ch2 at 10 watts with gain and it works fine. The output knob also...

Help me pick the right Mesa for me

No matter what amp you buy now, you will understand much better what direction you are going after you've owned it for a little while. At that time there is over a 90% chance you will want something else. For that reason alone, buy something used now, so you can recover your money.

LSC and Express 5:50 at home together - fun, fun, fun

Just spent a few hours with them both going back and forth and there are no losers here. I compared them mostly at 50 watts so it was apples to apples. The LSC was quieter, had a better reverb, had tighter bass, had more punch in the bass, and was smoother, or should I say had a little less...

LSC and Express 5:50 at home together - fun, fun, fun

Aside from the holiday the next few days should be fun. I sold my Express 5:50 2X12, but it won't be picked up for about a week. I then bought an LSC head and 2X12 cabinet from JAZZGEAR that arrived at my house this morning. So I have both of them to compare and have fun with for several...

NAMM 2008 - Any rumors or exspectations?

We're about a month away from NAMM. Just wondering if anyone has heard about any new products or changes that might be announced by Mesa Boogie? What changes or new products do you hope they announce?

    OT: Nice axe for Lonestar

I love PRS guitars, but not all their pickups. I have a Johnny Hiland, which has unique range of sound and is terrific. Even though you prefer the double cut, I would recommend that you try a Singlecut Trem, and I am especially partial to the Indian Rosewood Neck. The #6 pickups won't get...
