    rectifier 4x12

It CAN take quite a whle, especially for custom orders. Either way, they don't have a warehouse full of stuff ready to ship. They pretty much build toorder. It's much more of a "boutique" operation then most of us think. Tony

    Road King II Solo Feel?

Channel3, Vintage mode, tube recto.....pinches easier than a cheap hooker. Can be made very smooth, very touch sensitive. Tony

    Red stripe, blue stripe etc.

To show how little I know...where IS this stripe? Tony

Well, I guess the MKV is indeed a reality...

My RKII has many great lead sounds available. As many have said, IF you're willing to take the time & tweak it, you'll find some sweet lead tones, perhaps not your specific "Grail Tone" though. For instance, I replaced the EL34's with Yellowjackets, as the 34's don't supply a really useable tone...

Anybody change the knobs on a RK or Recto to more "visi

I checked with a red chickenhead I bought at a recent guitar show & they will fit, so I ordered some off ebay(Hong Kong), so say a prayer huh?  I'll take a pic when I get them. I MIGHT mix them with some black ones that I also bought. Thanks Guys! Tony

Anybody change the knobs on a RK or Recto to more "visi

I have trouble seeing my settings with the chrome knobs on my RKII, as I did on my TR. I WAS going to put red chickenhead knobs on it, to go with the Garnet front panel, but there's not enough clearance. Any suggestions for something more visible, that would still look good? I'll put a pic below...

RoadKing owners: the scoop about A+B cabinet switching

Mojo, I stand corrected. I called Mesa & got the same answer. MY APOLOGIES! I just figured it would be best to go to the source. Thanks! Tony

RoadKing owners: the scoop about A+B cabinet switching

Thanks. I'm aware of what the manual says though. My concern is the mismatch when running one cab. I had planned on running A on 1 channel, B on another & possibly both on the other 2. I thought that by plugging each 8 ohm cab into the respective 8 ohm jacks, it would automatically "switch"to 4...

RoadKing owners: the scoop about A+B cabinet switching

Man, that sucks! The tone then HAS to suffer when using only one cab if 2 are connected? That really sounds like a design flaw! If they can switch rectifiers with tube combinations, why can't they switch ohm settings? I take it you're SURE about this info? It just sounds strange to me...

I am finally half way there guys!

Yup, that's about how long mine took. WELL worth the wait!

    Amplifier Versatility Question

The RK II is TRULY versatile. I find it to be much more so with EL84's W/Yellowjackets in place of the stock EL34's, but that's more personal taste. Pristine cleans to Recto whallop. It really does what it says it will. Go try one... Tony

    My Mesa's

    Damned impressive! Tony

    NEW AMP!!

If you're looking for an amp that give you all of it tone-wise, I'd recommend getting a Road King II locally WITH A RETURN PRIVELEDGE & give yourself some time with it. I get sparkling clean, cutting mid gain lead, sustainy lead & Recto super crunch rhythm with mine. I opted for Yellowjackets...
