i agree with you. if you are going Ace combo, skip it. Too bright! but the Deuce head, is really nice! much warmer, especially with the right tube swap!

I have been considering selling my Triaxis for the Mark V. I cant think or what else I want to sell... i have a JMP-1, EL34 100/100, 2:90, MP-1 3TM, Pre-500 Recto, and a Stiletto II what the heck should i sell???????????

To get that Recto sounding tighter, just add an MXR EQ in the effects loop, and with very very slight "U" shape it creates a beast of an amp. tight and crunchy, and you can increase the amount of gain from the pedal as well.

you owe it to yourself to try the mesa STR-450's. i tried all sorts of tubes a while back with an ACE and hated the stock, hated the jj (el34, and L's) and the only thing that worked were the 450s. i sold the ACE and bought a Deuce II that came with 447's i think, and promptly chucked them in...

So what's the point of it then? that doesn't make sense...if I take the 4ohm out to the 2x12 cab, then the parallel out to the 2nd cab, 4ohm input, that doesnt seem right... because them i would be only taking 1- 4ohm output from the amp. ??

you wanna get rid of that buzzy Recto distortion? get rid of your recto...and buy a Pre-500. i own #112, and it is has NONE of the characteristics of the newer ones...not buzzy at all. I had a 3Ch. Triple, and late 90's 2ch. dual. and even a Recto Pre. I sold them all and bought this #112...
