Pros and cons of Channel two on both LSC & LSS

These are my settings, very different from yours. My settings are pretty much identical on both channels. This is using a Strat with hot noiseless pickups. http://www.johnlovell.co.uk/lonestar_settings.jpg

You guys think this is a SCAM??

Oh yes, that would be it! See sarcasm reference! :D You know how the saying goes- If it looks too good to be true......

LSS POWER TUBE PROBLEMS.....RED HOT POWER TUBES

That's odd, because the tubes are paired as middle pair and outside pair... What power setting were you switched to?

Pros and cons of Channel two on both LSC & LSS

Well the amp sounded just amazing last night, both clean and dirty channels. Great acoustics in the venue. Tomorrow's gig is open air, really interested to see how it performs. Boss SD-1 is doing a great job for a boost when near to feedback OD is called for. JJ, when you get your hands on the...

Pros and cons of Channel two on both LSC & LSS

I've tried the 4 ohm jack but not really sure I liked it. Will try again next rehearsal. In the meantime we have two gigs this weekend and I'm not changing a thing!

Pros and cons of Channel two on both LSC & LSS

Hi JJ, I had a listen to some of your songs and tonight at rehearsals I was concentrating on my channel two sound, and I can honestly say I think it would suite your style exactly. It was one of those nights where my amp just sung to me, both channels, and I felt very please with my choice of...

Pros and cons of Channel two on both LSC & LSS

I know what you mean. Even though the special is smaller than the classic it's still a beast to carry. After putting my back out lifting it into a truck I saw a classic head for sale and couldn't resist it (and sold the special for more than I paid for it!). Like I said, I don't regret it. I...

Pros and cons of Channel two on both LSC & LSS

Hi JJ, for some reason I thought you had both amps? I find channel 2 on the classic to be more modern sounding if that makes sense. Just a bit clearer and brighter. I'm not sure which I prefer as I like a little bit of each, but after switching from the special to the classic I'm happy I made...

    LSC Duo-Class ?

Mine switches down to 10w but I never use it. I run at 50w for gigging, rehearsal and at home practising and it sounds great at all volume levels. I think the general opinion is if you use a pedal on front, such as a BB preamp you can cover pretty well all bases. I kick in my Boss SD-1 as a...

    Coping with the weight

It's a good move. I'm so much happier with my head and cab than than I was struggling with the combo. I did keep things light in the cab department as well by only getting a 1x12. The head is still quite heavy but nothing compared to the combo. If I have to move them over a long distance I use a...

    Weird Lonestar

You must be talking about the short head Lonestar, been a lot of talk about these on here recently.

    trouble with footswitch

I'd be surprise if both sides of the cable had gone at the same time... have channel and solo stopped working? My cable was broken on the channel select side so I temporarily used a mono lead to swith channels (without solo function). My cable arrived broken but looked new.

    Output volume control

Yes it makes sense, but even with the solo engaged I'd have expected the output volume control to totally kill all output. I'll have a little experiment with it tomorrow.

    Quilted Bubinga, Anyone?

I think that's another name for "cut down"! :D On the "Good Wood Guide" it's listed as- Vulnerable: at risk of extinction

Ever seen a black shorthead LSC for sale?

Shouldn't be hard to work out the dimensions. The width is determined by the amp facia, the rest I guess would be normal head depth. The short head looks to be not as tall which is the only tricky one.
