    Output volume control

Well I haven't used the amp since the original post, but last night I plugged in, no sound out the amp, turned up the output volume there was the sound! The only difference is last time I didn't have a stereo (TRS) cable in the footswitch jack, just mono. Go figure.

    2005 LSS question

I just think it's people getting confused with the 50/100w classic. When I was selling my special I did have a couple people ask if it was the 5/15/30w model but as far as I know the special hasn't changed from original spec. I also read in an Ebay ad that the special was now...

Question: LSS reliability - preventative medicine

I wouldn't say running on 5w is problematic, but it will wear the tubes out faster. If you're playing live, carry spare tubes (pre and power) and a cross head screwdriver. Didn't I read somewhere that a year and a half is around maximum for a set of tubes?

Just had my best guitar experience

Hi Simon, I know what your saying. When I got my LSS the whole sound of the band just improved considerably! First night I used it I got a round of applause from the rest of the band, and as you say- the sound just lends itself to some styles of songs which just suddenly leap out of your guitar...

    LSC and speaker rating

Yes it's fine. Don't forget, Mesa do a Classic combo with just one C90 in it, so there's your proof. I use my head with a 1x12 Lonestar cab, nice and light.

    Output volume control

I think I'm going mad... I noticed that even with the output volume off there is still sound coming out of the amp? (I expected no sound) If I turn the output volume up it does get louder as expected. Is this normal? am I missing something? (I have the loop engaged and the loop send level at...

will I regret getting a LSS instead of a LSC?

Well funnily enough I bought a LSS combo and a couple of months later I've bought a LSC head and sold the Special! I loved the sound of the special, I love the sound of the classic, and yes they do sound different to me and I'm still not sure which I prefer but I'm glad I bought the classic-...

LSC and the topic of Boosters and Buffers

Serial Number - is it stamped on the amp?

"Unfortunately there is no "system" to our serial numbers. They all basically start with a letter designation for the amp model) (i.e. "RK-000435" for "Road King # 435") and are followed by a 6 digit number. All amp start at zero and continue in sequence until the amp is discontinued." [Source...

    10/50/100 Classic

Okay, I've found out for myself, so if anyone is interested the 10w option was added to the classic in 2007.

is/was the lonestar classic available as a short head?

    Lonestar head front panel removal?

Does anyone know of the front panel (grill) on a lonestar head can be removed? I've just had a cab delivered but instead of the silver piping it has come with black. I could have it swapped for silver but I quite like the black so was wondering about changing the silver piping on the head to...

    Lonestar Special Reliability

If you consider that most electrical items are most likely to fail early on in their lives then maybe buying a used LSS is the way to go? any problems have probably been ironed out and the savings made would pay towards the unexpected. And as you say, the Mesa warranty is not much good under...

    Should my Lonestar be louder?

Check where the loop volume is set at... Oh, and congratulations on the head, I just recently bought the same :)

Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

eek! I think you're gonna have to shrink that picture! Very interesting about the Hendrix Strat, I'm surprised I haven't seen one before. My favorite Strat is my Japanese made Kahler Strat. I love my two USA made ones, but the feel of the neck is quite outstanding. I'll try and get a picture up.

Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

Two questions... Why is your amp mic'd for practise and what's with the upside down neck: :)

Reverb creates noise? Amp noisy in general?

Why don't you run the chorus through the loop?
