there is a level pot on the back make sure you have that turned up at least a little. Can you put a single cable in the loop from send back to the return, turn the loop on and turn up the pot and see if you get sound?

I bought the Mark V used and they didn't send the casters, the seller said when they bought the amp originally they never received them so they called Mesa and had them shipped directly to me. Cool seller. But now the box arrives and I don't see how these casters would attach to the metal plates...

A little update here for anyone who finds themselves new to the amp like I am and has similar symptoms... There is nothing wrong with the amp. I had added the AxeFx in a 4 cable method and although I had all the input and output levels of the loop and the AxeFx balanced pretty well for unity...

After playing the amp in all modes for an hour or so it developed a hiss that only happens in Tweed mode. Is there a tube that only comes into the signal path for Tweed mode...or some other component unique to Tweed mode that could make the hiss?

Is the output transformer the device that provides the scaling? As in a tap from a winding way 'upstream' relative to the tap that feeds speaker outputs? Or is there something else in the signal path (I'm not sure how it all works, just guessing here)?

Is the slave output between the power tubes output and the transformer output? I'm just trying to learn what is the difference between the speaker output and the slave output since the description says it includes the power tube output my first uneducated thought was 'that is speaker...

Does Mesa insist the retailers raise the price of amps they have in stock at the retail level even though the stock was purchased at the lower price? If not then the store sucks for acting like Exxon. Maybe the amp was purchased at the new price but the employees marked using the old price...

Isn't that just the same thing as attenuating the signal entering the power stage ie; reducing gain, channel volume and EQ, etc.?

I'm looking to buy the Mark V, (my first Boogie! :D ) and due to where I'll be using it most of the time I'm going to be forced to play relatively low volumes during a lot of those times. So which to buy? The combo or a head with a cab, and if it is the head which cab/speaker? Open back or...
