Ive been having trouble with my two channel dual rectifier effects loop. What would be a good setting? I usually play with the output maxed and then work my channel volume from there.

I retubed all the preamp tubes and it does the noise only when I strike a chord and stop really quick. :(

Do you guys think it has anything to do with there being no shield over the first preamp tube? I bought some new mesa preamp tubes (two have the rubber around them and two dont) And out of the shields on this site which one is okay to get for the dual rectifier? http://www.tubesandmore.com/

Its a two channel dual rectifier. Jacks are fine. Different cables yes. Fx Loop is on. I noticed this also at the show that the clean channel had that distortion buzz coming through the speaker but didnt harm the actual clean sound.

Well I replaced the preamp tube the guy said was bad and the amp still crackles off and on. It was fine when jamming in my garage but when I got to the venue it started off and on. I'm gonna buy all new preamp tubes and put them in and put a cover over the first preamp tube. Any ideas on what...

What are the metal things that cover the pre amp tubes? I'm still getting some slight crackling and need to buy some for my amp since theres none on there. And where can I purchase them?

I know Chad Gilbert uses a significant amount of gain. When they played last week they were using stilettos with mids up highers than the highs and lows around 1 o clock.

It was a bad preamp tube. I changed everything except those since they looked good. BUT! When I set my head on my cab I still get the crackling noise! But when my head is off the cab theres no noise at all!! I put my pedal board on top of my cab and got the same noise. Any ideas why?

Retubed the amp and it still had some crackling noises. Took it to the local amp repair guy to see whats a matter with it.

The amp worked without the 5u4gb tubes in it. So does this mean it was just the 5u4gb tubes?

I put the 6l6's back in (which were working perfect in my other dual three channel I traded) and they lite up in the back. But I noticed one of the 5u4gb tubes wasn't lighting up nor was it warm like the other one. Before I take it to the tech should I buy new 5u4gb tubes and install them...

Yeah I switched it in the back to el34. I'm gonna try putting back the 6l6's in and see if happens. But when it did power on again with the new fuse I looked in the back and I guess one of the el34 tubes (mind you were brand new) was pretty much dead in color compared to the other ones.
