    Blown speaker..but how?

Thanks to all who chimed in on this. I'll get a replacement speaker sent to me in a couple of weeks which is good. The bad thing is..I am quickly finding out that I LOVE the sound of the Alnico Gold speakers, but i'm not that big a fan of the LSS itself with the stock speakers. Maybe I just...

    MkIV - Greatest amp ever?

When you're reading a Boogie owners manual and you see something that says "to get the sound of our fabled IIc+...." take it with a grain of salt. Like any other company, they will use any phrase that pays gimmick in their marketing materials.

    Should I, could I "ruin" my IIC+ with Re-verb?

Not sure about what it would do for it's "market value"...but I know I would pay more for an amp if it had internal reverb. For me there is no substitute for an internal 'verb tank. I too wonder what adding reverb (or EQ for that matter) at Boogie might do for a IIc+'s market value. On 1 hand...

    Blown speaker..but how?

I'd never leave an amp outside. The amp had been left in the club overnight and the next day I found out the heater "may not have been on for the whole night". It got to 34f that night outside which made me have concerns over the temperature. It's possible that the bad speaker wasn't working...

    Blown speaker..but how?

I've had 2x12" Celestion Alnico Gold's in my LSS for a while now. LOVE the sound of them especially in this amp. Went to play the amp and noticed that only 1 speaker was working  Also the 1 or more of the power amp tubes was VERY noisy in the 30watt setting and I had to replace the whole...

    FS: Mark IIC+

I'm definately interested but I won't actually be able to purchase my next amp for another 3 to 4 weeks. I am betting this one will make someone very happy 8)

    Too much reverb.

Thanks for the info. I think i'll try that in my LSS this weekend.

Mesa offered a mod to fix blowing 5y3 problem

I was told I could get any updates installed under the warranty so long as I had a copy of the original sales reciept.

Leave it run? turn if off? or Standby? between sessions? LLS

For me it would depend on how cold "cold" is. If by cold you mean room temperature then I wouldn't worry much about the shutting the amp down (just always be sure to warm up in stand-by!). If cold means a chilly temp or lower, i'd be tempted to leave the amp on for 10 - 20 minutes while I was...

Mesa offered a mod to fix blowing 5y3 problem

I'll definately try to get any information they are willing to share. I am a little hesitant to just drop my amp off and say "work on it" without knowing what all will be done to it. I'll be sure to post any info I may get.

Every Fri & Sat in Lexington/Richmond KY

My Lonestar Special & I play at a club called Riptides (formerly the Circle H) in Lexington on the Fayette/Madison County line. From Lexington take Exit 99 off of I-75, turn left off the exit then go to the bottom of the hill and ya can't miss it. We play Country, Southern Rock, a little old...

Mesa offered a mod to fix blowing 5y3 problem

I just spoke to the guy at our local service center, and he says "there are a few updates for that amp". He seems sure there is more than 1 update for the LSS. I am dropping my amp off there tomorow. Will I then be the proud owner of a LSS+?

    New LLS owner!

Congrats on the new amp! Sounds like you need to consider a retube if you are hearing volume level issues and lack of "spank" or liveliness in the tone. There are a few threads here that discuss tube recomendations which you may want to search for & check out.

Tone of the single-end mode on LS or LSS

I really like the 5w setting for clean sounds or with a slight breakup. Since I use my amp only for gigging I tend to leave it on the 30w setting (using the "optional 35w output jack").

First time playing with a used DR, first problem

I would definately change the tubes first before considering dumping the amp.

LSS owners - Hard Bypass or solo

I like the sound of the amp more with the loop bypassed...but using it every week for gigs - the solo switch is just too valuable for me to live without. Thursday thru Saturday = solo button at home or in the studio = bypassed

    LSC Rectifier Tube

From what I have read on this the short answer is no. It appears that the 5AR4 will produce lower DC voltage.

    ringing tubes?

Sounds like it needs a retube to me.

Is The LSS A Dependable Club Amp?

Yep I had 1 of the preamp tubes go "deliverance" on me. No problems out of the others tho so I assumed it was just a bad one.
