how much you plan on selling it for? i'm actually thinking about trading in my single recto towards a mark iv once i get my tax refund check, hopefully in a few weeks.

it actually leaked a day or two ago. if you search around the torrent sites you could probably find it. it's so good that i'm actually going to buy it when it comes out in march.

as far as heavy tones go, my personal favorite is Meshuggah. their new album is just flat out sick.

hm...maybe tubes? on my single recto, like you said, there's a noticable volume increase from clean to pushed. maybe give mesa a call and see what they say.

a bluish-purple glow near the top of the tube is normal. the crackling could be the tubes or dirty connections; get your hands on some electrical contact cleaner and give the tube sockets a quick cleaning. just spray some cleaner on the tube pins and insert them in and out of the socket a few...

honestly, i think KSE is pretty overrated nowadays. they were so much better before they got so **** popular. i'm not saying they're bad because they're popular, but Alive or Just Breathing and their self titled are far superior to The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies.

what kind of benefits would an output transformer swap provide?

there seems to be quite a few kick *** guitars coming out in 08, both from ibanez and other companies. most notable for me, the sv5470 and the new esp 8 strings.

i've heard good things about carvin 7 strings, haven't had a chance to play one though. the only 7 string i have actually played as a christian olde wolbers sig which was pretty sweet (limited on features though: bridge p/u and one volume). if i had the money i'd go for one of these:

it sounds like you already have a cab for the orange, as you commented on how much you love it. if so, you could also just get an a/b/y box or amp switcher and have the use of both amps by just switching with the box.

interesting. if i had the money, i'd probably buy it. i'd try to get in touch with someone at diezel to verify this claim, just for authenticity sake. me being a fairly big tool fan, it would be pretty badass to own adam jones' amp.

just got this baby in the begining of december. it looks much better in person, imo. as someone already said, nothing to be crazy about in respects to the stock pickups, so i threw in a dsonic and air norton. sounds 20x better and makes me love this guitar so much more. the neck plays...

just as a side note strategy, bulb does most of his recordings with a podxt. though he does have one or two engl clips on there, he uses them mostly for live playing i believe. awesome musician though, and you guys should check out his other band periphery. http://www.myspace.com/periphery

pardon the newb question, but the caps are the orange and blue components, correct? i'm incredibly interested in this kind of stuff, do you guys have any sites that have helped you out along the way you'd like to share?

i dont know, it kinda seems like a waste of money to me, maybe a bit of a gimmick. i'd gladly pay the same amount for a PRS or other high quality instrument and have to deal with intonation on them instead. thats just me though.

yea, i use rolled up toilet paper in the springs in my dinky. no trem on the guitar in question though, so i'll find something to put behind the nut.

it's a dell inspiron 5150 laptop, and i've had it for a few years now. it's weird because when i boot it up it makes a little pop noise as if it's trying to play that "welcome" chime, but that's the most i'll get out of it. any idea what could've caused this, or is it just that dell uses crap...
