so everytime i palm mute an open low e and have a rest after it i get this annoying little ringing that happens. it only happens on the low e and only for half a second or so, but it's still noticable; i'm using .10-.46 d'addarios if that matters, although it did it when there were 12's too. im pretty sure it might be the little bit of string after the nut ringing out, but does anyone know a way to get rid of this nosie, because like it said it's pretty annoying and makes my playing sound not as tight.

sounds like the springs for the trem if you have one, if not maybe its between a nut and the tuners, either way just put anything on them to stop the vibrating, foam, tape cloth, whatever. i put thin surgical tubing inside my springs to stop that sound

yea, i use rolled up toilet paper in the springs in my dinky. no trem on the guitar in question though, so i'll find something to put behind the nut.

had something like that on my ebmm axis. i first checked the truss rod, if its too loose can rattle too. then check with your ears following up and down the string where the location is.

in my case it was a not obvious edge in the lock nut that caused the buzzing.

good luck!
