im not sure what your price range is, but for $700 you can get the s7320; mahogany body, ZR trem, and a wizard II neck. only downside is you'll more than likely want to replace the pups. they're decent, but the guitar would sound a whole lot better with some quality pups.

not a fan of the apx. the loomis, however, looks super fuckin sexy but just a little out of my price range.

pretty sure it's not possible with the way mesa designs their power section. there are other amps that have only one power tube, but their usually lower wattage class A amps.

well that whole bit about the od pedals being for marshalls is crap. you can use an od pedal for any amp, and certain ones especially sound good with mesas. i have the maxon od808 and i love it with my single recto. as far as the tubes not all being lit, maybe you should consider replacing...

i used to run my single recto through one of these and the low end was just awesome. they're not as heavy on the high freqs as the v30s are, so they've got more of a mid-bassy feel to them, but definitely not muddy. the bass is tight and thick, which would probably sound really good in...
