    Lonestar Special question: Clean headroom

This is my situation; the ch 1 sound is GREAT but not clean at all at any loud volumes. At lower volumes (e.g. smaller band setting, etc.) it sounds great and reasonably clean but with bite if you request it  I'm not having this problem. I sat in with a band last night. Guitar player...

    Lonestar Special question: Clean headroom

RoadKinger this is really helpful; a few follow-up questions: -Did you ever work more with the volume knob to contain the pickup for clean playing and then crank for soloing? -The sound of the LSS driven by the bridge pickup is definitely great; do you really not miss that fur? What are the key...

    Lonestar Special question: Clean headroom

I have an LSC and an LSS. I love the LSS for what I've used it for. When I need clean headroom I just A/B switch to the LSC. For some small gigs, jams, rehearsals, I've been taken only the LSS: in most situations this has been GREAT. E.g. last night I sat in with a group; used the LSS and for...

    Lonestar updates

Yeah, I can imagine; because the '07 is 'Updated for 2007' and adds 10w Class A it probably has inherently driven down the price for '06 and earlier. A plus of getting a used. I think the stock colors (which should be easy to find used) were cooler prior to '07.

LonestarRoadster: How long until Mesa makes it?

I feel I'm getting inherent value out of having both Lonestar amps. The LSS 1x12 is really quite portable and great sounding for smaller gigs. The LSC has more power and headroom, not to mention a different base sound. With 2x12 and casters it's worse than the LSS but not horrible. A/B/Ying them...

    Lonestar updates

I have the '07 LSC 2x12. I really like the 10w option; it is a unique sound and allows for manageable volume levels of certain sounds. How much would I pay for it? That's tough; if I saw an '06 for say 1300, would consider it. Much higher than that and I'd go for new.

LonestarRoadster: How long until Mesa makes it?

I considered a RK II and sometimes wish I had gotten one; the 2x12 seemed SO heavy; + it didn't have the low wattage settings (5, 10, 15) nor the 84's (didn't realize you could swap those in), nor the Class A. But I see your point.

LonestarRoadster: How long until Mesa makes it?

I'm the proud owner of LSC 2x12 and LSS 1x12. I really love having both amps. I considered a Roadster and RoadKing II as well but there were some things missing for me compared to two Lonestars: low wattage settings, Class A, portability (at least of the 1x12 :)), no EL84s, looks :) So, here's...

Parker Fly Mojo -> Evidence Audio -> LSC or LSS = Blis

Wow, how'd I miss that spelling error :(

Parker Fly Mojo -> Evidence Audio -> LSC or LSS = Blis

After playing around with different amps for the last two months and settling on LSC and LSS (while also adding a second Parker to my collection), and then dropping <gulp> $120 on an Evidence Audio Lyric HG cable the verdict is in: FANTASTIC SOUNDS. I was skeptical about the Evidence Audio...

A n00b and his quest for an amplifier

+1 on getting a better guitar. At this point in your playing career I believe you need the better playability of a nice guitar much more than a top-of-the-line amp. It sounds like you do need a better amp; I don't know the price of a Rectoverb but it would imagine it's well over 1k. For that you...

My LSC is too good. Now with almost Recto levels of distort

Thanks for posting this; I have not always been 100% happy with the heavy overdrive on LSC compared to my Mkiic+. I will try this. Would love it if others would provide their advice for great Lonestar lead sounds; especially mellower one's e.g. Robben Ford, Larry Carleton.

    5:25 vs LSS

I did a jam where a guy had a Bruno ($5000+ head and cabinet). It was single channel and while it did have a great overdriven sound it seemed to have no clean; I played through it a bit and just couldn't get it to clean up. People at the jam thought the LSS beat it hands down. Wow, if you can...

    5:25 vs LSS

I did audition the 5:50. It was ok but wasn't ELx4 tubes and I was already pretty sold on the LSC so it wasn't of much interest. I can't say I hammered the 5:25 or 5:50 as hard as I did the LSS. I lost interest in them pretty quickly, especially the noise. I took the LSS into the back room of...

    5:25 vs LSS

I went through the same process: had an LSC 2x12 and a Vox AC30. Both were heavy and loud. I wanted the EL84 sound but wanted the versatility of the Lonestar. I returned the Vox and then tried a 5:25 and an LSS. For me there was no contest for these reason: 5:25 -The 10 inch speaker and small...

    Does LSS Cut it Live

I returned an AC 30 CC2x (blue alnicos) for the LSC and then bought the LSS as well. It was a tough call and in some ways I miss the Vox. it was LOUD but not necessarily at lot of clean headroom. It was also not as versatile, not made in US, not made by Mesa, and smelled way funky to boot :)...

    Question: Warranty card mailing

Per the actual warranty document you must return the warranty form within 30 days of purchase. The warranty form itself does not mention 30 days but does say you must register your amp. The warranty form also asks for date of purchase but doesn't require a receipt.

    Question: Warranty card mailing

I just noticed on another post that you must send your warranty card in within 30 days of purchase. I just bought two Mesas: LSC, LSS. Because I bought From GC I was holding out to mail cards to after my 30 days and I was sure I was keeping them. The LSS is still under 30 days but the LSC is...

    Disapointed with the 5:50

I have an LSC and wanted to supplement it with something else, ideally ELx4 tubes. I tried the Stilletto (but not for long enough). I tried the 5:25 and the 5:50 and compared to the LSC didn't like them much. LSC is bigger, broader sound by far. Then tried LSS: loved it. I now have one; I end up...

    Does LSS Cut it Live

A technical questions about these comments. What would the difference be between a clean channel with no master and e.g. ch 1 on an LSS with the master at full?
