7 preamp slots, but only 5 new preamp tubes.

try a sovtek lps for that pi slot. or a mullard cv4024. either can be had for about 20 bux on ebay. or, get both, and put the cv4024 in the v2 slot (or the second gain stage). clarity.

    Someone with same unanswered problem...

onstage, what does that little bit of noise matter? not a lot. playing in a much quieter setting, it can drive you insane.

New Mark V Video: In Depth Channel 2 - EDGE MODE!

Don, great demo's. I appreciate the time and effort you guys put into them, and it's really helped me make my decision that i'm going back to mesa for my amp needs by purchasing a mark v in the near future.

Is there anyway... (buying tubes content)

wow this post went south in a strange way. i think the bias pot is the way to go....but, thats just me. for some people, it might not be. if it seems intimidating, just stick with what mesa recommends and skip the mom and pop store..you''ll save yourself much headache in the fyuchah! the fyuchah!

Trying to pickout tubes for my Roadster Combo - Thoughts?

before you 3l34 it, try a cheap 7 band eq in front of the amp, in front of the 808. boost the mids to taste, and just use it for the channels you want.

Trying to pickout tubes for my Roadster Combo - Thoughts?

also, that mullard cv4024 will do magic in your clean channels. i'm actually contemplating getting 2 more and running them in v1 and v4 just to see.

Trying to pickout tubes for my Roadster Combo - Thoughts?

i'm relatively new to re-tubing too... i got a quad of ruby 6L6 from guitar center for 50. cant beat that, and, i really like them. they're tight, big and clear sounding. look around, you can usually find matched power amp quads cheaper at some places than others. pre-amp wise...it so...

Factory Seconds from TubeDepot? Anyone try 'em?

from my understanding, my egnater can take any matched power tubes...but it has built in bias adjustment...a really intuitive feature from an amp manufacturer standpoint. love that amp. love the sounds. traded a heartbreaker for it and really, honestly, haven't looked back. that being said, im...

Factory Seconds from TubeDepot? Anyone try 'em?

really? what IS the general consensus then for mesa amps, only use mesa branded tubes?? sounds kinda narrowminded on mesa's part if you ask me. i only ask, cause i dont know. i dont have a mesa anymore, but popped the ruby's in my egnater and they sound phenom.
