    Roadster love/hate

I had found the replacement for the most part, but I'm confident that it wouldn't cover all of the tones I want. The combo of an Esquire and a Lonestar Special killed me for over a month at guitar center...a friend of mine and I would go over there and jam nearly everyday after work to talk...

    Andy Timmons sound

A new Timmons axe would be nice to see. Maybe he'd go with something like an Anderson, G&L, or maybe even Fender. It'd be wierd to see him go completely left and jump on the PRS bandwagon, and it'd be even more out of place to see him with a Les Paul in his hands. Not saying he couldn't make...

    Roadster love/hate

Thanks...it is a huge weight off of my shoulders. For the last two months or so, I've been worried about selling off the amp (like how much am I going to get ripped on the price, how will I go about financing a replacement, etc). When I bought the Roadster, the timing was just right and I had...

    Roadster love/hate

I had mine turned on Bold but all 4 channels were on the 50 watt setting.

    Andy Timmons sound

Also keep in mind that he's running a Carl Martin compressor and a Butler Tube Driver. I know he keeps the compressor on at all times, and the Tube Driver is on quite a bit as well. I would hope that the tone in that video wasn't a result of the Tube Driver and BB Preamp combination, because...

    Roadster love/hate

I had a chance to jam with a friend of mine yesterday, and for the most part, it was just going to be a little blues jam with our Epiphone Valve Jr heads (both modded, mine with the Fender values and Hammond 125ESE tranny). After about an hour or so, I fired up the Roadster, and I was blown...

    Wiring through GT-8

This would not give the TS the stereo capacity he is wanting. Also, the GT-8 can only switch between two channels, and that's only if the channel jack has a jack/sleeve kind of setup. With something as complex as the Roadster, the GT-8 could be set up to control channel changes via MIDI using...

    Wiring through GT-8

The GT-8 is an effects unit, not an attenuator/dummy load. If you connect the speaker output of the amp to the input on the GT-8, you will most likely blow the output transformer on the amp and do major damage to the GT-8. I know this has already been stated, but I believe it needed to be...

Lets see them Lone Star pics

^Nice touch with the chrome Recto knobs. It would be nice if Mesa would do a Lonestar with a black chassis abd creme lettering though.

    Slave on roadster

As far as I know, it's a line-level signal from the preamp. You can probably route it into your computer, but you will still need to put a load (speaker cabinet or a dummy load) on the power amp.

Early Dual Rectifiers as defined by Doug West.

Can we get off of this hate parade and back to loving all things boogie?

Early Dual Rectifiers as defined by Doug West.

Well, I don't think there needs to be any changes to the Rectifier line due to the fact that so much of today's music is done with at least one boogie in the line up. I think the Roadster and Road King are filling those voids in the rectifier line, but the SR, DR and TR are still very viable...

    Roadster Brit setting

For my setup, I really wish Mesa would have put both the tweed and brit settings in channels 1 and 2. The clean setting lacks volume and punch to me, but the Brit setting is the best clean sound I've ever heard. It's got a lot of punch and cut that you normally don't find in clean tones. And...

Mesa Clinic w/Andy Timmons (European Dates announced)...

Yes, thank you indeed. I have been obsessed with finding out about his pedalboard, and there you go giving me full blown pics of the thing. Thank you...you are my new best friend!! There's also some great video of his clinic (all songs, no Q&A sadly) on youtube. EDIT - very interesting to...

    TwoString's Roadster...NAKED (HUGE PICS!!)

No problem at all guys. Now I have a favor to ask. Anyone know where I can dig up a schematic for the Roadster? I really want to know how they have their EQ and gain controls laid out in the circuit (helps me understand how to set the controls).

    TwoString's Roadster...NAKED (HUGE PICS!!)

The curiosity killed me, so I had to open it all up and see what goodies were inside. I had the camera handy, so I figured why not take some pics. It all started with the footswitch. I was thinking about putting this whole thing in a smaller package, but I would want to build a second...

    Mark V?

I apologize if this is a standing topic of discussion...for some reason the search feature isn't working for me at the moment. The rumor mill has been running on this for as long as the Mark IV has been in production, but things seem to have gotten a bit more active recently. Between vendors...

    mesa bought by guitar center?

I get what you're saying, but let me correct myself. I look to do more than just break even. The price I shoot for on anything I build is typically double my investment + 10% of my original investment. The way I see it, the 10% is the profit, while the rest I roll back into the next project I...
