Lonestar Excellent Condition w/ FS & complete JJ Retube

$899.00 Includes extra set of EL34L tubes This is imho one of the best sounding amps you can buy. From organic black face cleans to warm lush overdriven tones this amp can pretty much do it all. I've installed a Jan Phillips NOS Rectifier tube together with a complete JJ retube for both...

The search for tone may be over.

Wow thanks BobL. You are a well spring of knowledge truly. Thanks for sharing. I will have to try this Weber California speaker with the aluminum cap. I take it that the improvement you hear / feel over the blackshadow is not subtle. Best Stephen

The search for tone may be over.

Hi BobL Thanks for the very infromative posts. Anyway a couple of things. Do you think it would be a noticable sonic difference between the aluminum dome and the paper dome Also have you heard anything with regards to the neo mag series. The neomag 12 is supposed to emulate the D120F very...

Why are mesas mids vocied on the lower frequency range?

Chris I agree with you completely that the free exchange of ideas is great -that's what these boards are all about but extreme hyperbole ie: "this genere of music sucks or is without musical merit " isn't the foundation of a credible argument or opinion. Rather it comes of as a rant. Rant...

Why are mesas mids vocied on the lower frequency range?

I wouldn't call the LSC dark by any stretch. It has an articulate and sparkly clean tone that is as good as any of of my BF Fenders. Also, with a bit of tweaking it has a very nice gain channel as well. Throw in some el34s and you get more pronounced upper mid juice with touch...

    # What do you like about your Lonestar Classic ? #

i've had some great bf fenders a couple of hand wound vintage marshalls. plenty of boutiquey amps from Fushs to Victoria to Bruno to Two rock even a recent carol ann and honestly with a real good set of el 34 the LSC is still closest to getting that tone in my head. Think Jimi's "little wing"...

    Help my LSC died

I had my LSC on standby after just a 10 minutes of playing at low volumes. When I walked back to the amp I noticed the light was no longer on. Now it wont turn on at all. BTW, I typically run my LSC in tweed mode and at low to medium volume levels and I've never had any problems. Any ideas...

Is there a boutique amp that sounds better than the LSC

I've been through a bunch of /13's, a couple of different Carr Amps, several Fuchs ODSs and more than one Bruno. While they are all great amps none of them provided a more satifying rock -n roll tone than the LSC either clean or dirty. While tonally the LSC was second to none I did feel that...

    LSS or Express 5:50

If your searching for a great Black Face tone in a new well built amp then I would go with the LSC. Huge great deep complex 3d shimmery cleans when I dial it in, I can pretty much get a match with my BF Vibrolux. In addition the LSC has a very nice gain channel. Takes a bit to dial it in but...

    New Mesa amp rumor!!

Didn't they just discontinue the Mark I Reissue. Hmm a Mark IIc+ reissue might be in the works as a replacement for those that want "the"a classic Mesa

    LSC w/ EL34L vs 6L6

I like the 6L6 tone better being more of a Fender guy but the JJ EL34L give the LSC incredible touch sensitivity in tweed mode. Equal to any of the boutiqueys I've played through. GReat mid juice in the gain channel too it's just not as lush and big and 3d as the 6L6s but a nice alternative...

    LSC w/ EL34L vs 6L6

Well I swapped out my JJ 6L6s for some JJ EL34Ls. There really is a noticable difference in response and tone. The LSC with the 6L6s is right there with my Vibrolux for a big lush Fendery clean tone. Pop in the EL34Ls and you have a much brighter sparklely clean tone on channel 1 with a...

Tweed setting on the LSC simply awesome

For a while I was going through a bunch of boutique amps because I felt the LSC wasn't quite as touch sensitve as some of the boutique pieces I played through. Now in tweed setting I get all the touch sensitivity I need. I can through multiple tones just by pick/ finger attack. I was...

LSC with THD Yellow Jackets-- OMG WOW!!!

I love all this LSC activity and have been thinking of checking out the yellowjackets. Hey Charles can you tell me which ones you bought for your amp. Now the only decision is whether or not to go with the triode models Hey Charles have you checked out the EVM12L speaker. I am really...
