How's the turn around time been for sending Mark series amps back in to Mesa lately?

It’s a painful experience- you get an email saying amp done please confirm shipping- then once you confirm shipping- another email comes saying should hear from billing in the next two days- then you pay the bill and another email- saying in two days should here. Back - so I think the process took me another week back and forth after amp was done - mine is shipping today got tracking late yesterday

Got my Mark IV back today , I haven't fired it up yet but I am a little pissed.
Chris told me to send the tubes i used an mark them for each slot they go, so I boxed them up marked with slot position on each box and packed them up really well.
I had a NOS Mullard in V1 and a NOS RFT in V2 and a Chinese square getter in v3, the Mullard and RFT cost me close to $100 a piece and sound killer in my amp.
The pre amp tubes they sent it back with are JJ's and blank unlabled chinese (not square getters JJ's and a tungsol.
I sent Mollie an email, I did not expect Gibson/Mesa to squirrel NOS tubes on repairs. :(

Just got a chance to fire it up and they did fix the issues I asked them to. This is my 3rd mark IV and the R2 on this one has so much more gain than the other 2 I had. I may be able to run a pedal in front of this amp and turn the gain down on the lead channel and get a real clean/rhythm/lead channel use out of it.
I always wanted a solo boost but I may no longer need one. I'm going to have to see how it sounds at band volume.
So glad to have this back :)

Update: Mike emailed me to let me know he’s been sick all week - that’s why the amp never got out - he really backed up right now but my amp is done should go out this week- I never reached out to him he just wanted to give me a heads up - again great guy
I never put a rush on them what is the point..is it speed or a no compromise service.I always tell em to take they're time and do a perfect job.

Yea agree that’s what I told Mike B to not rush - I can deal with waiting but once the amp is done the process is silly- Molly is very nice about everything - and explains everything- all good

On the last Mark I that I sent in, I spoke with Mike about the repairs, authorized them and was told that I would get payment information. I think nearly 3 weeks went by until I emailed about the delay. Apparently, there was some miscommunication between Mike getting the information to billing. I feel bad. There was a time Mike B. used to call and speak with me on the phone about the repairs and mods. From what Mesa says, he's been very busy for several years now. Maybe it's time to take on an apprentice.

I just got my Mark IV back and they fixed it, but now it suddenly seems a little sterile and less aggressive. They replaced some caps 'n stuff and did a full retube. I'm wondering if I just need to throw the original preamp tubes back in it.

Also, don't expect an email chain to make its way to the final TODO list when Mike (or whoever) gets the amp on the bench. You have to be very specific. Some of things I asked for were ignored and never addressed.

Did they find your tubes yet? Those are not easy to replace!

I am still waiting to hear back . Oh they found them , someone poached them, they were in Mullard and RFT boxes, I'm sure someone saw them and started drooling :( thankfully they did address everything I asked them to, the amp is a fire breathing beast again. My R1 has almost as much gain as my lead channel, I can use this a s a real 3 channel amp now with a clean/rhythm/lead set up. I threw a love pedal in front of it and I've got the gain on R1 at around 8 and the lead drive at 6 and the lead gain pulled at 6 and the switch from R1 to Lead sounds perfect (EQ on all the time. I may throw my 10 EQ on my pedal board so I can fatten up the clean channel some. To get R1 to sound close to the lead channel I have to keep the mids and bass way down , which does thin out the clean channel . I didn't realize how much gain I was missing on this until got it back
Besides the "missing" cough cough tubes I'm very happy with the repairs and what they charged me.
I'm psyched to get this back into rotation at rehearsal.

what tubes did they put in? they used a couple of JJ's and the rest unmarked (look like Chinese tubes but not the good 4th gen tones like I sent with mine)
oh an da tungsol re issue (made in Russia) in the PI (I had a Sovtek LPS for that, I didn't get that back either
