Recto, Mark IV or Road king?

Can anybody please tell me the virtues of owning a MARK IV? Is it the versatility of having 3 channels? Does it have really great high gain? How does the clean channel sound? Are they as clean as a vintage Fender amp? Is it one of Mesa's most flexible amps in terms of sounds attainable...

New F-30 owner, have questions about preamp tubes...

They used to be the same factory as the Sovteks, but not anymore. Sovteks are garbage.

New F-30 owner, have questions about preamp tubes...

You should try to buy some Svetlana tubes, which are made in Russia at the Reflektor factory. They are much higher quality than Sovteks.

Mesa Boogie 6L6 tubes, what's the difference??

You get what you pay for. The Svetlana is a much better tube than Sovtek. Sovteks are poor quality vacuum tubes. The Svetlanas are made in Russia in the Reflktor plant. Mesa Boogie relabels those tubes with their logo. Mesa is charging extra money to do this. You can buy the same tubes...

I'm maybe considering buying a Road King.

Vulture, Well I have bought both of my guitars at Gtr Ctr, a PRS McCarthy and a Fender Deluxe Stratocaster. Also my Mesa Boogie Heartbreaker. It's a great store. Much better then Sam Ash in my opinion. The Les Paul Ltd Ed. had a list price of around $3000, the retail price was around...

I'm maybe considering buying a Road King.

Just go to GC and see what they can do for you. I had purchased my Mesa Boogie Heartbreaker a few years ago on the 12 month financing program. It was like the last day and I received $900.00 credit and paid the rest in cash. I paid the full price since it wasn't being discounted or discountinued.

I'm maybe considering buying a Road King.

Thanks for the advice Vulture. I was also trying out a Les Paul Limited Edition which was discounted. Would it also be on the discounted price tomorrow? The salesman said only today. I don't know if that was salesman talk or true. I really had a hard time deciding on what to do and let it...

I'm maybe considering buying a Road King.

I was just at Guitar Center today to check out the Memorial Day deals and the 15 month financing. I was close to getting something, but I had decided to wait a bit longer. I was thinking of getting a Road King amp over the Lonestar. The Lonestar just cam out and will be around for a while...

I'm maybe considering buying a Road King.

I had asked a Gtr Ctr salesman and he said that they will no longer carry the Road King as a regular item. It can still be special ordered by them through Mesa Boogie. The amps are marked down by Gtr Center as clearance items to move them out of the store. Mesa Boogie is usually never...

I'm maybe considering buying a Road King.

It would be cheaper for someone from Europe to actually fly over to America buy a Mesa amp from a dealer. Then have it shipped back home with them. Even the airline they are travelling with can transport it back home with them. And even with the customs duty added, it's a real good deal based...

Why I hate Guitar Center (Mesa Related) But really long.

Will Mesa still be manufacturing the Road King? Or is Guitar Center not going to carry them as a regular item anymore? I've had me eye on the Road King for a while now. It's still a bit pricey on my budget.

any of you have problems with ghost notes on your Lonestar?

Does the Lonestar have Celestions in them? Maybe you need to put a pair of nice Celestions into that Mesa. Perhaps a different model of Celestions that are currently not stock in the Mesa cabinets. Good luck with the Mesa. I personally would not buy another amp besides Mesa. I still love my...

any of you have problems with ghost notes on your Lonestar?

Where was the amp purchased? The warranty from Mesa Boogie should still be valid. You should be able to return the amp and exchange it for one that doesn't do the ghosting. The amp is clearly defective.

You should check the grounding on the wall outlet that you are using. Make sure that it's properly grounded. Next check to make sure that the instrument cable you are using is good or try to get a different cable. Make sure that the tubes are correctly positioned into their sockets.

    MK IV Speaker cab/ Discontinued

I had checked with Guitar Center about the availability of the Mark IV Series. They had said that it will not be carried as a regular item in their stores. The Sales dude told me that it can be special ordered if you wanted one. Mesa is still making the Mark IV, I had called them up to find...
